When the opportunity came up, I had no doubts about it.” Carranza was born in Argentina and started his career at Argentine Primera División side Banfield, before making the switch to MLS side Inter Miami in 2019. He spent four years in the MLS with The Herons and Philadelphia Union, racking up a total of 37 goals and 15 assists from 115 regular season matches in the United States, becoming a key part of the side that finished runners-up in the 2022 MLS Cup. Julián’s performances earned him a move to the Eredivisie in the summer of 2024, where his goals in his debut campaign helped Feyenoord to a third-place finish in the league, as well as the knockout phases of the UEFA Champions League. He will now link up with his Leicester City team-mates who are next in action against Oxford United in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday 13 September (12:30pm kick-off).
