The only reason can be that Daka played well v Saints, and he’s probably being rested for the league? We literally don’t have another first team striker. But I think survival this season - and possibly our existence or at least not going bankrupt and sliding down the pyramid - depends on Musaka. He’s very very good, and I’m not sure I’d be wasting him on a cup game.

Pearson is pretty much the only person who would get everyone on board and behind him and the players straight away. Time is something we don’t have. The next 14 games is about going bust in my view - it’s that serious. As much as we need to get a tune out of the players, we also need an appointment that’s going to get the crowd back. A common question I ask of KPFC is how far are you prepared to let it slip under KP, and clearly I think if we go down again I don’t think we make it back for a long time. You can see further and deeper financial issues, more hefty points deductions (listening to them makes me think the EFL were lenient to try and enable us to stay up) and possibly further relegations. It could get very dark. European semi final 4 years ago, but it makes you wonder if we’ll be supporting a phoenix club in 4 years time.
