Shit tactics from Marti. Mavadidi not passing to anyone again, Aluko standing still and not overlapping. Doesn’t matter who is in the position if they play so static.

Ricardo last game, now Fatawu.

I see Fatawu is in slow and greedy mode tonight.

I’m hoping he will have the belief, confidence and arrogance of youth that Monga had in those first few games. Until Marti stunk him out. No better place for him to learn from his mistakes.

Everyone praying that Aluko doesn’t play exactly like Thomas. Please don’t keep passing backwards or offer no support or overlap to the winger. I’m expecting same poor tactics from Marti. JV needs to stop slowing everything down and get caught at the halfway line.

Looked like a completely different player. A hybrid of Thomas, Soumare and Okoli. I have to think something was up, I’ve never seen him play that badly in every aspect.

I would rather have Perez as a forward than anyone else we have. I don’t think BR ever played him in the position he played well at Newcastle.

Correct. I’m no fan of Daka but it also doesn’t help not even trying to play to his limited abilities. It’s more a comment on Marti trying the same thing over and over when it doesn’t work.

The style of play doesn’t suit him at all. That’s on Marti for playing this turgid brand of clueless football. After the first 10 fouls and losing the ball, a manager with half an idea would change it up. Get rid of the JV slow pass in the middle and get Daka facing forwards all the time. He should always be ready to drift into space after JJ, Mav, Fats and hopefully Monga do the heavy lifting.

He’s such a cautious manager he’ll set us up so that Soton can’t break down our attacks because Ayew will have already done that.

A player of Skipps (alleged) reputation, experience and cost shouldn’t need time to integrate to this standard. He should be 4 steps ahead of the opposition, knowing where the runners and pass is going yet he chases the ball like a little puppy. He is crap, he not even a caveman EFL clogger. It’s not his fault though that he had a great agent that knew how to play our poor senior leadership team.

And having to watch the midfield and CBs pass 6 times just so the midfielder can get the ball in front. None of them attempt to turn with the ball, even under no pressure. Everyone the whole defence pass themselves into trouble and then 8 short passes later the ball ends up at Skipp to do nothing with it. Such a waste, when JJ or Fatawu could’ve received it if Ricardo stops being boring and lazy and tried to move the ball forwards.

He also has zero attacking instincts. So many times he just stands there watching the winger. He won’t offer a forward run or try and draw defenders away, just stands back. I can’t stand watching him call for the ball, get it and his body position is already wound up to send it back, without even looking at the players ahead who are open.

It was a shame Daka was getting nothing from the fouls but they were all with his back to the defence. Why can’t we try and get him running in constantly over this wasted hold up play. It doesn’t work as a tactic with this style of football and players. Daka needed support with players running into space but for some reason this simple tactic doesn’t cross their minds.

Really pleased for Mav & Daka and it’s 3 points that we need but another game with zero over laps from the full backs. Sadly Ricardo is done. Boring player and not as sharp. The players are happy to make one twos pissing around the middle, which they tend to lose. They don’t entertain the idea of passing to the winger and carrying on further up the pitch or into space. I hate watching how boring this football is under Marti. JV is the cause for the pressure on the back, the ease at the other defenders and Winks to over play is frustrating.

That is always the plan. The counters were just happy accidents.

Mav having to do everything again because Thomas offers zero support to draw defenders away. Brain dead player. Ricardo is now in the boring and useless category. His quality has fallen down quickly in this game. 15 passes to get it forward when he could’ve turned instead of sending it back.

Especially when they ignore the player unmarked to start with. Get rid of JV and this team has so much more urgency.

Daka trying to play players in space twice there but zero runners.

If they sit back, piss around under the guise of control and include Ayew for the famous hold up play, it will be a disgusting watch. More of the same quick attacking, without the chuckle brothers passing around. Fatawu, JJ and Skipp now to score please.

Such a difference when a team attacks quickly running onto balls as opposed to slow building with backs to goal. It feels like a waiting game until the defence play themselves into danger one time too many.

What’s the worst that could happen. I prefer mistakes on the way up by a young player. Hopefully this is just a blip for Ricardo.

That would be great to see but for it to work we need to get rid of JV and have JJ get the ball quickly.

What has happened to Ricardo. I don’t care that he’s one of the good guys. He’s not a leader on the pitch, not vocal and constantly making poor choices. He’s playing like Ayew. Poor captain.

Unfortunately Marti has drained any last idea of chipping the ball into space for someone to run. It’s like Vardy never existed. We have to watch JV blast the ball into a crowded area and hope that Daka or Skipp does something with it.
