I actually think if Coady, Soumare leave, and with the ones who have already left, our wages are much more under control, already. We'll need 5 CBs with Souttar injured, and just the general grind of a long Championship season.

With regards to Michael Keane, I wouldn't want him to start over Nelson. However, in terms of our squad, is he actually a better defender than both Coady and Faes?.. I actually think he might be! (Which speaks volumes as to how poor i feel Faes has been!). If we are to go into the Championship season with Nelson, Souttar, Okoli, Vestergaard and Keane, as our center back options, that's really no that bad, and will arguably represent the best combined options for CB in the division.

I think the club are (quite sensibly) keeping all options open. The likelihood is that they give Ruud the old tin tack, once they have his replacement lined up, and the financials are cheap enough to implement. If that plan should go tits up, they can stick with Ruud.
