I was watching Duke Ellington on YouTube last night and thought I'll put this up on Foxestalk. There isn't a thread for Jazz that I can find. The piece is called Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue starring Paul Gonsalves (his performance starts at 4.04) on sax. It was performed at the Newport Jazz festival in 1956 and is. in my opinion, a masterpiece in big band jazz. I know this isn't what many of you want to see or hear these days but this is worth a listen.

I have been thinking that this might be a better way of dealing with perpetual offenders without sending them off for the rest of the game. The professional foul, i.e. pulling back a player en-route to the goal area is, for me, a foul currently only penalized by a innocuous yellow card. I think the sin bin would be a useful deterrent to this cynical foul.
