Imagine a scenario where the filthy rich in this country decided to give it all away and the millions of people on benefits or living below the breadline were given a lump sum of money as a gift. Imagine it was say £25k each. Enough to pay off debt, put down a deposit, invest, etc. I wonder how many people would go out and buy a flash car, book a luxurious holiday or piss it away on drugs and booze instead. I get the concept of financial equality but in practice I’m not sure it would really fix anything in this country. Financial education is the key and our kids should be taught about money and finance from an early age. It should be as important as English and Maths.

Thorpe was a joy to watch, reminded me of Gower when he was in full flow. Very sad news and only a few years older than me. -
I’ve gone past anger and depression and now firmly in sadness. Just feel really sad about the state of this country. Almost hopeless about what can be done.

Correct. His shin knocked the bar off and it just happened to brush against his knob afterwards. People going on that his manhood cost him a medal but that’s not the case. Just felt I needed to set the record straight on this important matter.

Jesus Christ. I despair.

I feel ashamed to be English reading what you’ve posted mate. Hate the fact I’m having to try and explain this all to my teenage kids. They just don’t understand it.

Thanks mate. The wife is a crazy driver back home and loves driving over here. She’s right in her element. I just sit in the passenger seat with my eyes closed clinging on to the seatbelt for dear life. Sicily is cool though. The people are so expressive and full of life despite the fact it’s 40 degrees every day. Interesting that down this part of the island they don’t speak much English and it’s mainly locals not tourists here.

People repeatedly posting on twitter and going on about the French pole vaulters knob knocking the bar off, but it was actually his shin/knee that hit the bar first and dislodged it.

Rahm looking like me after the monthly medal

Shame for Tommy but can’t argue with a final round 62 from Scottie. His ability to hit it so high out the rough to land softly on the green is a huge advantage
-
Shame the 18th isn’t really a birdie hole with where they’ve put the flag today.
-
Yes Tommy! One more birdie and the gold is yours

Novak in bits bless him. Look what it means.
-
Yes Novak. That’s brilliant

I love watching the best in the world under pressure on the biggest stage. They’re super human.

What a shot into 16 from Tommy. Hole that and it’s game back on. This is tense and elite golf at its very best.
-
Rahm double bogey, Tommy leading with Scottie. Four to play. Squeaky bum time.

Yep, there’s loads of options and opportunity to involve many more nations rather than use OWGR as the criteria

This Olympic golf ain’t far off a major for me, definitely ahead of the Players, PGA elevated events, Fed Ex cup etc. You can see how much it means to them and how much they’re digging deep. Rory looks distraught at putting in the drink then. Superb stuff.

How dare you

Yep. Bonkers scheduling

This tennis final is quality. Novak trying every trick in the book to gain an advantage and win the first set.

It’s playoffs for all medals I think. In your scenario all 6 would playoff until 2 are left then they’d playoff for silver and bronze.
