Still one of the most iconic photos I've ever taken, I reckon

I wished I understood fitness a bit more. Two weeks ago I was moaning because I'd prepared well for the Leicester 10K, but was disappointed to have only got within about 2 minutes of my year old PB. The following week I was pleased with myself because I ran half a 10K at the pace needed to beat my PB before tailing off, but hey, it's something to build on, and the following weekend (this one) I knock more than a minute off my PB. Obviously I'm pleased but equally not sure what I've done for this to happen -

It's a day of achievement. Knocked a minute off my 10k PB. Must have been the Tiramisu I had for breakfast -
I can only assume it's because there's actual supply now and decent stock of used vehicles. During the year I was waiting for the IONIQ 5 used prices were the same as new ones effectively, but now the one I drive has lost about a third of its value in less than a year. Glad it was bought with someone else's money. I don't think they'll end up being worthless, they'll find their market - there's been so much noise about them being too expensive (which they are) but if they can be bought more cheaply then owning them starts to make a lot more sense to a lot more people
-
Watching this now. It's a really compelling case for the internet just being turned off, isn't it?
-
Me too. It feels expensive though, although that said I can't remember the last time I spent money on anything and didn't think that

Crafty Burger still going? Not been for ages but theirs were lovely. I can even forgive their burgers being tall rather than wide
-
Still angry even now

I'd be amazed if a full bumper replacement was less than a grand, especially on a car like that. If it's largely cosmetic I'd be looking at repair/paintwork myself, but even that won't be cheap. Even minor bodywork stuff seems to be at least 300 quid these days
-
None of mine yet, it doesn't make sense

Shite headlines e.g. "Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca sends Stephy Mavididi simple demand". Who sends someone a demand? Maybe a utility company. I think he probably just asked him to do something, probably in person. See also "sent three word message". We used to be a country etc

Curse you social and legacy media for making me interested in the Royal Family, however temporarily

I was thinking that the absence of crisps in the house represents a net gain for me until I remembered that I often buy one of those massive bags of Sensations or whatever on my way home "because it's Friday", and end up eating all of them and THEN having dinner. It's a good job I'm an elite athlete, that's all I can say
-
I didn't even bother looking. I've even tracked down all the odd packets that fall out of the multi pack bag under the stairs and into the plastic bag stash, which have been a source of great joy and comfort on previous occasions when I've stumbled on them, let me tell you
-
I'm saying this as someone who couldn't give less of a f*** about these people and this ridiculous circus (yet here I am!) but it really is a no-win situation for them isn't it? My first thought when I saw it was, if she looks that well, why have they been hiding her away? I then went back to thinking about how nice it would be if there were some crisps in the house. But imagine if they'd put out a picture of her looking poorly or even just a bit tired? Everyone would be shrieking about her having days to live, so what they've managed to do really is the worst of all worlds, well done lads. My wife's theory, based on absolutely sod all is that it's eating disorder related

Did another 10k yesterday, happier with that than the event last week. First half of it averaged about 8:12 a mile, which I was quite pleased with, unsurprisingly dropping in the latter stages but still only 8:36 a mile overall. Only got to knock 10 seconds off that to come in under my PB -
I'm increasingly becoming a fan of a Things You Should Have Done on the old iPlayer. I was much amused
-
Absolutely agree. Only disappointment was that when they first came out the introductory price was so low I thought it was a budget brand, was a bit crushed when they started charging full whack

Done my weekly shop there more than anywhere else, so much so that I was sick to death of it and had started going to Sainsbury's, mainly as it's more convenient. You go to the same store most weeks for two decades you do start to go a bit potty. I did go to Freeman's Common Morrisons the other week and thought the refit had really helped, it was actually quite nice to be in
