I'm concerned we're falling into the same trap again with this. It gives me flashbacks to the EU referendum. During the EU referendum, many people who were open to voting Brexit were ridiculed as being stupid and did they come around to our way if thinking? Of course they didn't. They got their backs up even more.

If Reform win a number of seats at this election, what does the future of the Conservative Party look like? Do they go down that rabbit hole trying to chase right wing votes in an attempt to basically eliminate reform as a political force or do they move to a more centrist and generally more pro-europeon position (someone of Rory Stewart's ilk)? I wonder if reform are that much of a force now that the tories may as well accept them and change course. Try and win voters back that they would have lost to Labour and the Lib Dems.

I've made it clear that I will not be voting for Labour at this election. However, if there is any chance whatsoever of Reform winning the election, I'll have to go back on that. At that point it fully becomes the lesser of two evils for me.

We often conflate Conservatism with Thatcherite economics. The funny thing is, Harold Macmillan would be considered left wing now.

Labour are the main opposition to the SNP in Scotland. I particularly like listening to Stephen Flynn because he's not trying to pander to voters in England. As a result we hear a completely different line on Brexit and immigration.

Might need to factcheck this but it basically sums up the fundamental issue with right wing populism. They claim to be revolting against the elite but really they are part of the elite and are there to protect the interests of the elite, therefore they create a false elite.

Reform: can you stop calling us far right please? Reform: *releases nazi-style propaganda showing a massive queue of people trying to get a GP appointmemt, all of whom are. non-white*

Labour aren't really offering much change in terms of policy platform. It's more of a change in management.

I shouldn't feel sorry for Sunak, I really shouldn't. However part of me does. He doesn't deserve any sympathy but ultimately he's the one carrying the can for failures of previous leaders as well as all of his faults.

And as much as I don't want them to win seats, I can't help but think it's wrong that they could end up with millions of votes and only two seats. I'm pro-proportional representation because I believe in democracy, even if it means that it gives the likes of Farage more seats at the table. It will also give plenty of seats at the table to more progressive viewpoints. I understand that PR is not perfect but FPTP is failing.

Labour are by far the most likely alternative to the tories to win an election. Also, Starmer has shifted to the right to a point where they effectively look like a one-nation tory party. The more right-wing tory voters are moving to reform.
-
Labour are going to win a thumping majority. They will have people voting for them for the first time in decades and others for the first time. How secure is their majority on that basis? Afterall, we saw many people voting tory for the first time ever in 2019 and myself along with many others thought they were going to in government for another decade. The Conservative voters that are moving over to Labour are doing so mostly because they are so disgusted with the tories. My parents for example are not typical Labour voters but they look as though they'll be voting Labour this time out. For a lot of people, Truss's minibudget was the straw that broke the Camel's back. In my parents' case, Covid is what did it for them. They still feel very bitter about partygate, Cummings, Michelle Mone etc. and who can blame them?

It's really making me laugh seeing right-wing people referring to Labour as 'socialists'. This is arguably the most right-wing Labour Party ever. It certainly is in terms of rhetoric.

I just love him

I've only had a Lib Dem leaflet through my door.

Rayner's performance wasn't very good but Labour HQ's messaging is purposely vague and repetitive. However, there's an exceptional amount of classism in how she's ridiculed and some of the abuse that she receives is disgusting. A mum at 16, was a care worker & came through the union movement. We need a range of voices in parliament and there certainly needs to be working class representation. We don't want to just have Oxbridge educated willy pullers in parliament.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that Liz Truss crashed the economy. She did a lot of damage, no doubt, but banks didn't go bust and there wasn't mass employment or rioting in the streets. However, Labour are well within their rights to use it as an attack line and fair play to them. After all, the tories didn't hesitate in disingeuously trying to pin the fallout from the 2008 financial crisis on Labour. In fact, they're still doing it. What's funny is we would have been even more screwed after the financial crisis if we'd had a Conservative government. Afterall they were pushing for more deregulation of the financial sector.

NES has a much better record as Forest manager in the Premier League than Cooper.
-
On the flipside of the coin, he absolutely humped Rodgers in that FA cup game.
-
If this happens, it reveals more than anything how bad the financial situation is. Compensation of around £10million and we appoint the cheapest option whose track record in the premier league is far from impressive. It also couldn't be a greater change from what we've been trying to do with possession-based managers over the past 7 years. Another indictment of how dire the financial situation must be.

I tell you who I think is an impressive performer, has a good set of principles, a world view that I largely share, comes across very engaging and confident, and appears to be in politics for right reasons...Stephen Flynn. It's just a shame that I can't vote for him.
-
Many of the most 'staunch' left voters are disillusioned with Keir Starmer and the Labour Party. As a result, the Green Party will pick up their highest number of votes in their history, despite them only being able to win four seats max.
-
His 'two forms of socialism' line when talking about the tories and labour is just hilarious. He just looks stupid.

To be fair, I use trigonometry almost daily.
