I'd be looking to loan Alves and Braybrooke out to championship sides. We need them to be playing football regularly at a high level. Ben Nelson has shown in the few games that he's played that he should be able to hack it at this level and I'd send him out on loan to the championship too.

What Have You Enjoyed Most About This Season?
BenTheFox replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
I didn't enjoy the games against them particularly, but I have enjoyed reigniting the rivalry with Coventry City. -
Excluding loan and out of contract players, our CM options going into next season are currently KDH, Winks, Choudhury and Soumare. We're looking very light in midfield and that's even if we don't sell KDH. For that reason, I'm happy for us to try and keep Ndidi. Otherwise we're going to need to sign three or four CMs.

Who do you want for next season in the PL

I want us to sign Callum O'Hare. Not because I think he's anything particularly special. I just want to see their meltdown. -

Having a group of players that I can stand. Even in games where we were terrible, I didn't look at our players and think 'they don't give a shit'. I can't say that about last season. You saw after the Southampton game that the bond between the players and supporters is back. -
To be fair, I can see it happening within the next couple of years. They seem to be a club that are heading in the right direction.

When we have come up against decent footballing sides that are a bit less direct and want to play against us, we've generally looked better. The games that spring to mind are obviously last night, Southampton away, the first 70 minutes away at Leeds and Bournemouth in the cup. The main exception to thos was the home game against Leeds. We have struggled when the opposition have been organised and physical. This could be for a number of reasons, complacency in the players being one. However, I do recall Maresca saying words to the effect of 'when the opposition plays fast against us, we play fast through them. When they are slow and compact, we play slow and patient'. I think that has been an issue. Our build-up play against mid-table/bottom half teams has been too slow and patient. It's acted as a leveller. I'm not suggesting that we spam the box with crosses but it's harder to defend against when you move the ball quicker with quality.

I know the history. I just think it's daft either way.

Being happy that a rugby club that represents our city lost in a derby game is just so weird to me. It can't just be me that finds the idea of there being an intersport rivalry between Leicester City and Leicester Tigers to be pathetic?

I'm in this camp. He's clearly a very coach. You don't work for Pep Guardiola if you're not. I'm just not convinced that he's a good manager yet.
-
The entitlement is grim, if you're not good enough, the you don't deserve to be there. However, in my opinion the Premier League is better for having Leeds in it.
-
Take the game yesterday. If we had Carlos Corberan as our manager and West Brom had Maresca, we'd have been promoted weeks ago and they probably wouldn't be in the play-offs. I hope this helps.

Will we get promoted this season (Poll)
BenTheFox replied to jim5000's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes, no, maybe, I don't know. Can you repeat the question? -
I think he's not our manager next season regardless of the league we're in. That's my call. Stay down, he'll walk because he'll go into ect season in the championship with a worse squad and no backing abd gis reputation will taje more of a battering when we are nowhere near challenging fir pronotion. I don't think he'll fancy managing us in the Premier League with no money spend and a probable points deduction either. Us getting battered every week and being on a pitiful points return willaksi be dreadful fir his reputation. If he gets us over the line and we go up, he at least has that on his CV to try and get another job, although everyone in this country will be able to see straight through it.

I don't buy it, sorry. Being promoted with 6 games to go would have great. Going to every game with no stress and enjoying it in party mode. I'd have turned uo to all of the remaining games absolutely slaughtered.

Obviously I'd rather Forest go down, but Everton need to be flushed at some stage.

As predicted, Man City will stroll to the title now.

Bayer Leverkusen, who have won the Bundesliga, are managed by Xabi Alonso who played under Pep Guardiola and could be described as one of his disciples (although that would be disingenuous as he played had under other big managers such as Mourinho, Benitez, del Bosque etc.). They play a possession based game, however, if you watch them they play with such freedom and purpose within a structure. It is a world away from the rigid and insipid football we have become used to seeing.
-
Leverkusen can still win a treble too! If Liverpool fail to overturn a three goal deficit, then Leverkusen are favourites to win the Europa league. The DFB pokal final is against Kaiserslauten who are fighting relegation in the German second division. Every chance of Leverkusen winning a treble. Alonso will have have so many offers this summer.

I've always been against the idea of Pearson coming back for a third spell but could it be worse than keeping Maresca just for four games and a tilt at the play-offs when we miss out on automatics? I henuinely think that this teams just needs a sense a simple approach and a sense of urgency.
-
I was laughed at for saying that Dean Smith would be doing better with this squad after the Bristol City game. Anyone still disagree?
-
In terms of value for money, he's up there with Akinbiyi, Musa, Slimani, Mills, Silva and Beckford.
-
The biggest problem at our football club without any shadow of a doubt. Sorry if the truth is too much for some of you to handle.
-
Most importantly the owner
-
Do these idiots know we're losing. The lack of urgency is unbelievable.
