  3. Obviously there are better places than Blackpool, it was just an example. I've seen people compare the cost of taking their family somewhere like Legoland or Alton Towers for the day, and it works out cheaper to fly to an equivalent abroad, similar to people choosing to travel to Center Parks in France instead of the UK. I haven't got the energy or the inclination to travel somewhere just for the day trying to see as much as possible, and I'm lucky that we can afford to stay in the places we choose to visit, but I understand why some people would choose to fly somewhere for the day, and after all it's up to them how they spend both their money and their time. Of course there may be people choosing a day trip just to post pics on Insta, everywhere is filled with people doing stupid poses for the camera nowadays, whether they are there for a day or a month. Like Groby points out many people aren't travelling to experience the real culture anyway so a day or a week wouldn't make much difference.
  4. I think the point of EDT's is that you can fly to somewhere for the day for the same cost or cheaper than a day out in the UK, with a better day out somewhere in the sun in mainland Europe rather than the rain in Blackpool.
  5. Yes! And yes just ask away
  6. @Raj We're back from our week in Marrakech, and we loved it so much we've booked to go back again for 3 nights on 24th March to do the things we didn't get a chance to do We're lucky it's a short and cheap flight from here in Spain! This week we had my teenage daughter with us so we stayed on the outskirts in an apartment, but when we go back my husband and I have booked a riad in the medina, two completely different experiences. We hired a car cheaply but also used the very cheap taxis easily, they are everywhere. We went quad biking, visited most of the main sights, did a trip out to a desert camp for dinner, and my husband and daughter went on a sunrise hot air balloon trip, and we'd recommend them all. We absolutely loved the vibrancy and general chaos of it all, the souks are amazing and everyone is so lovely. You will have a great time
  7. I'm so sorry, I'd feel the same way, our cats are part of our family too. Like you said give it time and try to focus on the amazing life you gave him while he was with you

  22. Yes Crimson Tide, Mississipi Burning and The Firm are probably my all time favourite three, but plenty of others come close.
  23. You think they are 'glorious' reasons for voting for something which has arguably not been beneficial for the UK in the slightest, and has in fact only been detrimental? Christ
