Their players are even less arsed than ours were last year. This is only going to end in another drop.

Harvey banged them in for West Brom. When he came up, his cut in on the right foot, score across the keeper habit no longer worked. He couldn’t finish through the tiny, brief windows he got in the PL. It took him a season or two to beat Prem keepers with some consistency. For me, Harvey just had to refine his skills (though he also gradually improved his reading of the game). Mavididi looks like a heads-down player with Demarai Gray-like recognition of the situation around him. It’s not only finishing skills are his issue. It’s taking too many low-xG shots few players could finish -- when better options are available. At 25, Mavididi most likely is what he is. A skilled, tricky guy who doesn’t react at game speed. I do think he's a contributor at this level, but the next? Hope he proves me wrong!

Maddison haters still clowning themselves. Stays healthy, he’ll be Spurs player of the season and recognized as a major star. Now both very, very productive and a consummate entertainer. (Not so much different than what he was for us.) He was immature and has an ego. So what?! Successful young footballers grow up in a bubble and most have maturity issues. Some grow out of it, some don’t. Maddison is turning out to be an articulate leader and spokesman. If he didn’t have that big ego -- that confidence -- he’d never have become the player he is. We had him in his growing-up years because we can’t afford such talent in peak, got-their-act-together form. But I forget, he torched 5 grand on an idiotic backpack and painted his own mug on his stadium suite. He must be shite beyond all shite. Glad the little snot is gone.

Got my tickets for his last home game tomorrow night Truly grateful for the decade the best manager of his generation spent here, getting the very best out of my small-market club.
