All of this makes me even more angry about what happened with Everton. If they’d been punished in the correct year (as teams will be in future), we would never have been relegated. Instead, we got relegated, and Everton got a points deduction in a year when the bottom 3 are possibly the worst ever. So they’re safe. Meanwhile we had all the lost revenue that comes with relegation, the possibility of a double punishment, and harsher financial conditions due to the Championship permitted losses being lower than the PL. I hope litigation is being considered.

My understanding is that “complying” involves creating a business plan that we have to agree to and stick to. That would be almost impossible surely, for a club who don’t know if they’re going to get promoted. At a time of possible change, we wouldn’t want to be tied to a legally binding business plan if we didn’t have to be.

It gave me a headache reading that statement. Not sure I understand it. Is it like the police searching someone’s house without a search warrant, finding drugs, but not being able to prosecute because they didn’t have a search warrant?

I agree. I'm a STH but was a member for years before that. As a STH if there's a match I want to go to I buy tickets the minute the window opens, or at the first available opportunity. No one should need more than 24 hours.

True - but unless you are retired, unemployed, or can take annual leave at short notice, midweek evening games can be difficult. So it's no surprise to me that of the 20-something thousand fans who attend home games, 6000 of them are keen to go to Stamford Bridge on a Sunday afternoon.

I'm not surprised. For a lot of us, we'll never get to go to grounds like Stamford Bridge, because despite being a STH for nearly 5 years, I'll never have enough points for league away tickets (if we actually get promoted). Cup games are the only chance.

leave it till 2pm when members can buy, and see how you feel when you see the tickets disappearing. If you're not bothered, then you don't really want to go!

No way!!

Tickets will reappear, they always do. I think some get allocated to staff, who then decide they don't want them. I also think people choose a ticket and put it in their basket, so it disappears from the screen. But then for whatever reason they decide not to pay for it, so it goes back on the system. In the time I've been typing this, 2 have appeared in SU2 and 4 in SU1 !

My advice for members would be to grab the tickets that look the worst! I spent 5 minutes trying to get good seats in SU4 and 5, but the pressure for seats meant that they disappeared each time I clicked on them. So I went to SU1 and it was easier.

I think you could probably do this at the shop or on the phone, but the website won't let you.

It's a total bunfight - took me ages to buy tickets because each time I clicked on available tickets, I got a message saying they were unavailable. I'm guessing a lot of STHs with high points have been waiting for SU4 and 5 to open. Managed to get seats in SU1. Actually wishing I'd waited for SU6 because they're better seats, but I didn't want to risk it. Literally couldn't click the computer mouse fast enough before someone else got there first!
