I agree with what you’re saying apart from the bit about King being exempt from going. Why does an ex player get away without being criticised or put in the same bracket as Ruud and Murphy? Or is it simply because he’s an ex player?

We missed out on some decent readily available experienced foreign managers when Cooper went. Schmidt, Rudi Garcia, Conceicao, Kovac and Terzic were all available at the time. You only have to look at Wolves and what they did by getting someone experienced in.

I take it you mean who hasn’t managed in this country before. If that’s the case I’d go with Hassenhutl. I also like Cleverley and Selles who both did well in difficult circumstances. Watford only finished 1 point behind Rohls Sheffield Wednesday. Obviously I’d prefer us to go the foreign route with someone like Ole Werner, Jesse Thorup or Brian Priske. But as you say we won’t do that even though we should.

Just to put it into some context and I’m not saying we should but Leeds appointed Farke on the 4th July a couple of years ago. They got over 90 points and any other season would have gone up automatically. Imo I think we’re still at least a week away from appointing someone. I just wish we’d hurry up and get rid of Ruud.

I’m surprised Glasner hasn’t been mentioned for the Spurs job. Experience in Europe and has just had a great season with Palace.
