Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Gamble92 replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
They clearly, like Everton but to an even worse extent because it's gone on longer, thought the punishment was worth the crime. They expected a big fine for it. The late "compliance" by not signing anyone was to avoid it being a bigger fine. I think what some people aren't realising is this is going to be the worst of all the punishments. We are staring at -12 and then another points deduction for the following period. -
Look who swallowed a thesaurus

Why they so bothered? -
I'm starting to think this appointment is as illogical as it felt at the time. I was completely won over a few months ago. We were easing to promotion with a clear vision of how to play and although there were a hell of a lot of question marks about the style, at least everything seemed set up to invest in him and give him chance to prove it. Now we don't have the money for it, I have absolutely no faith we can play anything like this in the division above or actually even this one. It's all gone absolutely to shit. The only plus is I managed to abstain from drinking myself into oblivion this weekend.

Yeah I covered the Vesty bit too above. Was very telling about Rudkin. I do find this moaning about how many games there are to be so tiresome. Pep and Klopp are the same. We aren't Rotherham. It's always the managers of teams with the biggest resources that are doing the moaning. Who feels sorry for Maresca this season with the squad hes had? He's gone out his way to make it look as limited as possible but he's had the most depth you'll ever see at this level. On Rudkin, I think he got the idea very quickly what he is like and I think it might be the biggest factor he leaves us this summer to be honest.

You have to laugh at the part of the statement that says the club wish it could be more transparent with us all. Couldn't have been any less transparent if they'd tried the last few years. Treated us with utter contempt last season. When do you just admit Top is a poor owner? It's an uncomfortable truth staring us in the face and we don't seem to want to admit it. -
I genuinely think the thing that will piss Top off the most is not being able to sell the club as quick as he planned. I think it's always been the intention to put us up for sale when we get back to the Premier League. This will all make that more difficult.

The Belgium one is lovely. The rest looks like boring templates. I didn't get the hate for the collar we had last year. Just the awful badge colouring and FBS ruined it.

You have to ask why him when they'd have looked at his record. These jobs really aren't that difficult to get right but it's like most jobs - it's about how much guff you can talk and it's a closed shop to anyone who knows what they're actually doing.

Agreed but that all still falls on him to make sure he has the best possible people around. There is so many parts of our journey to the top that could have ended like this and with Vichai being seen a hell of a lot differently too. People forget that because of what came after. But if we didn't go up when we did, we'd have effectively been in same position Derby were. Their chairman threw money at it and essentially took the same gamble we did. Look how he is viewed after their points deductions and mess. Obviously its been their money, but a lot of the success is down to other people and likewise a lot of these failures now are too. But if he wants him and his family to take all the acclaim by getting on the pitch with the trophies, he sure as hell needs to take the blame when it goes wrong. -

I think we should also face the reality we are fighting this in this manner because we are going to be dealt -12 in the Premier League -

Very unique situation for us but he's deserved a lot more criticism for a lot longer than this. But you only have to look at his petulant statement after we went down to know his thoughts behind it. How dare you question me attitude until we've been run into the ground. -
I've literally always had this feeling, even when we were in the Premier League doing well, that when Top left we'd be in ruins. Even more so since Vichai. You can just picture the news articles, news pieces and documentaries asking whether our success was all worth it as.it pans to the Birch wiping off the dust on the rowing machines as we move back in to Belvoir Drive

Feel like the points deduction fiasco gives him a free pass to blame that now. I don't see him getting much more than an average job abroad if this goes tits up.

It's on the When You're Smiling Podcast He's been given the best ever championship squad by some distance and it's felt reduced to a tired, small squad lacking in belief recently. I have been a fan of his up until a point but it's become impossible to defend recent decision making. My biggest worry in the summer is us not having time to slowly implement a philosophy in a season we need results to get back straight away. All those worries were put to the back of my mind because we were getting results (for me, alot of the time in spite of the system). But now it's all coming to the surface and it's worrying how he deals with things.

You won't find a bigger critic of the club than me for the past few years and I like a few others were calling it out when things were all smiles on the surface with Brendan. That doesn't mean you can't see the complete injustice in the way the rules target a select few who dare to challenge the elite. -

We've been through worse. Let's use this like the whole worlds against us. Get those flasks in the air West Stand -
He was of course paraphrasing and acting like his spokesperson but it wasn't a good listen. Very abrasive to any, and I mean any, sort of questioning of Enzo. He wouldn't go as so far as to speak on behalf of him, yet didn't mind making out Enzo is dealing with players much below the standard he needs for his system - such as Vestegaard being easily outdone on occasions against Chelsea. That got the response "you expect him to find a quick, quality premier league centre back for his system?" A lot of it was arrogant and self serving. I don't think he does Enzo any favours and by sounds of it he hasn't done the managers he's done this for in the past any favours too. The hard done by act and telling us he only has 15 players he trusts really irks me. There's is plenty of managers who could get use out of the 25, and a lot of the players we let out on loan.

How can they not account for relegated teams with their rules when more often than not it will be relegated teams who suffer from this? Especially ones that have been in the league a while and drop out. Hardly a "loophole" that we found. Just absolute panic from the Premier League because they're now going to be watched closely. -

They really need to introduce a system that at latest gives deductions at Christmas. Or just say start of a season regardless. Otherwise you're just ruining what's going on on the pitch. They were all against "asterisks" for the big 6 for the super league because of how it would look for the league but aren't against doing this to teams just before the end of the season? -

This sounds like a loaded question but it isn't - do you really think it's got worse or has it always been that bad but it's just more noticeable now? Before we had Richard Keys and Andy Gray, less matches and repeats of Premier League years. I think maybe the competition of other channels highlights how much they've held people to ransom of the years. The decline of Soccer Saturday is undeniable though.
