  1. Can people not take comments like “player would prefer Roma” to be a case of him clearly not wanting to come here. If established clubs come in for players then it’s likely they will have preferences, we all have preferences, but it doesn’t mean if they don’t get it, then they will just toss it off and not bother. Money talks, and at the end of the day we can probably offer better wages than Roma, given the current state of Italian football.
  2. They won’t have that kind of attitude. And you say this, but none of the teams hit with PRS breaches have been relegated? Not even Forest….. so, the argument at this time isn’t valid. People are worried of massive points deductions, but that simply won’t be the case….. we will likely get a deduction, but it won’t supersede anything we’ve already seen. Also, we can still pay and will still pay big wages, regardless of how we moan as a fan base, because the club still want to, and will try to compete, they’re not going to just stop. Players will still come to us, based on the fast we bolster careers, even in our two bad seasons we’ve sold a player to spurs, and then a player to Chelsea….. so it’s still evident we can be a good stepping stone for some players careers. Despite the doom and gloom, there’s a lot going for the club, and that still resonated within the wider football community.
  3. If you genuinely want a player, you just have to pay the asking price. I know we’re keen to haggle, but as soon as you start to turn it into a bidding process, it drags on, other teams get involved and it becomes messy. I don’t actually think half of what’s reported is true in cases like this, it’s just the Italian media turning it into a Hollywood script. He won’t end up here, but I doubt it’s been as dramatic as the media are leading us to believe, I reckon we’ve probably not even put another bid in or have we even made a bid at all but shown interest with some talk of figures. Who knows, but given the rest of our business has been pretty fluid I’d take whatever is being reported on this with a pinch of salt.
  4. You’ve hit the nail on the head Re Italian journalism… how often do you see the headline “player x rejects team Y”….. happens all the time, the reality of the situation is, Juve will sell to the highest bidder regardless of what he wants or thinks. It’s a business, and he’s not exactly a big hitter for them, and as you say, they won’t strengthen a rival and accept less. He will only go to Roma if they pay the asking price. We sold KDH against his wishes, because we had to, and to someone who was going to pay the money. Some people are naive thinking clubs like Juve care what their players think, especially players who are more fringe players. They just know he’s got potential, which is why they’ve put the price up at a premium.
  5. So, allegedly he is 100% off to a club that’s offering £10m below their asking price, and less even than we’re offering……. Makes perfect business sense that.
  6. They’re also under the same constraints as us. They’re like Newcastle, they appear bigger than they actually are because they’ve got a fairly large fan base.
  7. Pffft, West Ham are Frankie and Bennies….. someone will tell you it’s brilliant, you go and it’s actually shit. That’s West Ham, they should be good, but actually, they’re pretty shit.
  8. He’s quality.
  9. Don’t waste your breath trying to explain in….. some folk just don’t get it 😂
  10. Until Rudkin and Top started a Sonny and Cher tribute act.
  11. It’s happening, I’ve just been for a piss, and the bubbles came together to form his name.
  12. Underachieved. Had access to possibly the best pool of players England have had, and failed to achieve anything with it. Tactically he’s extremely limited, might be nice, but nice wins you nothing. I just hope he never gets anywhere near our club!
  13. Thank ****. The lad is ****ing crap.
  14. They’re all broke, and desperate for cash, so there’s some potential bargains to be had. Although I wouldn’t class this as a bargain, more of a coupe if it comes off.
  15. Southgate always has been, and will always be a ****ing shit football coach/manager. With the players he’s had access to during his tenure, failing to win anything is a major failure, in my opinion.
  16. He’s won more than Kane, he’s more than Kane’s Ayoze Perez has won more than Kane!
  17. Perez is more decorated than Harry Kane…… Edit more decorated than Kane will ever be.
  18. Not necessarily, he could be playing as a ten or just off the striker… you could still work that in a back three.
  19. Our first Guatemalan international!
  20. Well, at the end of the day, it’s either going to happen, or it isn’t.
  21. Who’s this Daka? Is he any good?
  22. Just bumped into him as Greggs on Coalville, was buying cheese sandwich.
  23. He will be signed as a 10 I imagine.
  24. Jake will be fuming if he finds out we’re spending £25-30m of the kings beans on a player………
  25. Ah, I suppose for him he is looking at our track record. Generally speaking they move on to decent clubs. So he might think it’s a great opportunity for him to develop his career and then make his inevitable move to Chelsea. But it’s a win, win for us!
