We're watching our club rot in real time aren't we?

    Wout Faes

Doesn't reflect well on him. I don't particularly rate him, but he's one of our better players. Maybe that actually sums everything up!
  3. It's a massive red flag, this
  4. If we could get Sterling or Chilwell for a season on a third of their wages then I'd go for them. Not sure either would come. I actually like Jackson too and can't see him getting many minutes once the squad is settled. A season long loan perhaps? I imagine all would turn their noses up at us at this point.
  5. They appear to have a competent recruitment team. I can only assume ours pick names and numbers out of some kind of hat.
  6. Ipswich are totally embarrassing us in the market. It's painful to watch.
  7. I don't mind him at all, but the £4m initially touted seemed the max I'd want us to pay. £6m yesterday was a slap in the chops. £8m today is plain silly and knowing us we'll have offered £10m tomorrow despite the £8m today being enough!
  8. Much like Skipp, a useful player that slightly strengthens the squad. Better players and better deals out there, but the club clearly have a vision that doesn't conform to most. Fingers crossed this turns out better than it looks on paper.
  9. It's 11...
  10. Partly agree, but the substitutions did not help either. Felt they took most of our threat away

    Houses

Hi folks. Thanks again for your support and advice. I'm considering a bid on this place. It needs considerable work and I'm a total novice. Bar decorating, the work needs doing by professionals. I know this is a slightly flawed question as all properties and circumstances are different, but would anyone fancy estimating the following costs?! The house is very well built, 1970s and in good condition, but it's essentially the same house it was when built. It needs so much work: - full electrics - solid wall knocked through - every wall has wallpaper that needs removing, re skimming and repainting - new kitchen (7 × 5.2m²) including some plumbing work - downstairs toilet installing - total bathroom refurb (2.3 × 1.5m²) - new flooring across the whole house (4 bed semi detached, for rough guidance) If anyone fancies putting some guesstimates on the above I'd be really appreciative. I know things can be done in stages over time, but I'd need most of the work doing quite quickly. Thanks!
  12. Appreciate that, but the gulf in quality was a little too uncomfortable for me. They were creating chances with ease whilst we couldn't even mount the occasional attack. It was the worst of both worlds in that regard.
  13. Moves like Captain Tom
  14. The people with brain cells applauded him
  15. I've not heard anything he's said yet, and a brief skim read of this page sounds positive, but I'm certainly not convinced yet. We were second best for the best part of an hour and could've been a few goals down. Our turnaround seemed to be completely sparked by a few players and the fans, and then once on top Cooper seemed to diffuse our momentum and hand it back to them. The players do seem on board with him, going by body language, and I'm hopeful he'll buy into our underdog status, which tends to suit us nicely. But we do need to improve over 90 mins, and if he doesn't see Ricardo as one of our best players, then I need some convincing still.
  16. Oh there will be goals tonight!
  17. Let's be honest. This is a wildly overpriced signing in a market where our rivals are getting good deals done. He may strengthen our team but there are other areas of greater priority. The club's once renowned recruitment policy is now a bit of a joke, only not a very funny one.
  18. Wrong! I've heard the same club went for both! And spent upwards of £20,000,000 😬😂
  19. Didn't hit for me, but that's probably because I've never been less optimistic for anything in my life. We do need a call to arms though. We've no chance if the fans don't play their part, and we need to go big from the start. Especially whilst we're trying to attract (shit, old, over valued) new players.
  20. There's no point in forums if you can't speculate though! He could prove to be a brilliant signing but on the face of things we appear to be overpaying for a player that doesn't really solve any of our glaring weaknesses. And it's not the first time this has happened in this window! Gut feeling is that we are being taken for mugs whilst all other relegation candidates are making smart deals that strengthen their chances, whilst also making wise financial decisions (not that anyone would expect that at lcfc anymore)
  21. Has anyone checked his agency? Might answer some questions?
  22. Big week for the lad. Could be career defining.
  23. £20mill. I understand this club less and less by the day.
  24. We're literally going into the season with an OK championship side. It's going to be a long and embarrassing season. I suspect those running the club will desperately spend in Jan too, having learnt nothing in 2022-23
  25. I think it's now too late to hit the panic button
