  1. No, You didn't underestimate us, we played so badly it was embarrassing at times because we can play better than we did, and are very well pleased with a point that we never looked like getting, The real winner was Thomas Frank who used our 5 subs very well and it paid off, Your loser was Brendan Rodgers who only made 1 sub when you were tiring badly, that was a very big elementary mistake, What on earth was going through his mind, we won't get an easer point from being 2 down, still a long way to go!!!
  2. We do have the ability to both Lump it and also play it along the ground depending who we are playing, Against a poor Liverpool defence we exposed their weakness by going direct, and it paid off, We also attacked Chelsea in the second half the same way for the last 20-25 minutes, if it wasn’t for their keeper bringing off a few world class saves, we would have won that match, but that’s football. Well, we made it to the promised land at long last, Pleased with start so far, let’s hope we can keep it going, I compare both our clubs to be very similar, albeit you have more experience at this level, both of us can play some nice eye catching football and appear not to have to many wayward supporters who want to cause trouble. As well as you are playing and scoring I’m sticking my neck out and going for an entertaining and hopefully 2-2 draw. With regards to pubs, The Express Tavern and One over the Eight are considered “Home” pubs but well behaved away supporters can join us, The other pubs that have been mentioned are all OK as well, But remember you are down by the river new Kew Gdns and will face an eye watering £6 a pint!!!! (The nearest "Spoons" is Hammersmith Broadway) Have a safe journey and sit back and enjoy the game.
  3. Well, We've finally made it at last, had a great day out at Wembley, We didn't play particularly well but controlled the game from the off and the Swans were poor, At least we won't be selling any of our "star" players for the first time in a few years and that will help us keep some continuity, we will have to strengthen in a couple of places, perhaps with a couple of experienced players, but won't be going over the top, We have a very astute and stable owner and support team who will already have a campaign mapped out ready for the PL I very much like the style of football you play and look forward to you visiting our new home, hopefully we will give you a good run for your money.
  4. Brentford don't work like that, we set a price what we think is suitable to us and very rarely budge from that figure, as we have no urgent need to sell any player unless they are coming into their final year of contract, Toney has until 2025 so we hold all the cards, we also never stand in any players way if they want to move on, that's how we, as a small club attract players to join us in the first place, We Buy, Develop, Sell on, that's the only way we successfully survive in todays game. If we don't go up he will obviously move on, we won't be short of interested parties and should obtain what price is asked, whoever buys him will be getting long term value.
  5. Leicester are also a team that actively tries to score goals, so he will suit your style of play, and who’s worried if his goals aren’t impressive enough, finding the back of the net is the most important thing, 21 from open play, 9 penalties and 10 assists are what counts. He is still relatively young and will only get better, for those that have never watched him he has become an all round team player, a quick, tireless and unselfish worker that puts himself about, for a forward his defending attributes are fantastic as well, Many teams are still regretting not signing Ollie Watkins, and he’s turned out OK for his first season, Ivan Toney is a much better all round player, Hence the interest shown in him at this present time. He will be worth every penny of our quoted £35 million asking fee, mind you this will only happen if we fail to be promoted, All fingers crossed this time round that we can make it.
  6. Under the circumstances we are making use of a mixture of players for this one, Like you we have priorities to aim for as well, They will do their best for us, but I think you will have to much for us in the end, but stranger things do happen!!
  7. The referee has just inspected the pitch, and the game is on.
  8. I was there, December 2004 we won 2-1, and very lucky at that as far as I remember, and it's now stopped snowing here.
  9. I just hope someone remembered to put some money in the meter!!!
  10. Snowing Heavy here in Brentford/Twickenham area at the moment (11:23) but expected to stop soon, match should be OK as our new ground has undersoil heating, can't see any reason why it should be called off.
  11. Correct, No appeal with 2 yellows, so Toney will only miss this cup match, I believe that he would have been rested anyway, along with a few other 1st team players for this match, Our TOP priority is the EPL as we can't make the same mistake as last season of running out of steam like we did in the run up and in the Play off final against Fulham, We will still put out a decent mix of 1st and B team players that will give it a good go, but I think you will have too much quality for us to get a result. Hopefully if all goes well for us , we will be looking forward to playing you twice next year in the PL.
  12. Yes, It looks a good tie on paper, with two of the best attacking teams in their respective Divisions, look forward to it when it eventually gets played.
  13. The game could be in doubt now, The breaking news is that our next two games 13th & 19th have just been postponed due to a outbreak of Covid-19 in our camp, so it's possible it might be rescheduled if it gets any worse, or they might make us play with what players we can put together, not satisfactory but understandable in these difficult times, if this gets any worse I can see ALL elite sport being suspended.
  14. We've just had a good run in reaching the Carabao cup semi-finals against Spurs, beating 4 Prem clubs on the way, and that loss was our first one in 17 games, I think with this draw we will play a good mixture of the first team and B team players, You're right we are gunning for promotion again after falling at the last hurdle in the Final against Fulham therefore promotion has to be our top priority now, I still think we will give you a run whatever team we put out. Should be a good match against two teams who like to play good to watch attacking football, Our lads will be up for it to try and reverse last years result, you never know we might just surprise you this time round, Cup games can produce some strange results as we all saw at the weekend!!
  15. The club have stated he's not for sale this season, That's why he's playing today and Watkins & Benrahma aren't, but then money talks.
  16. Fair point, but could be an expensive way of getting players in, sometimes recruitment teams have to take that gamble, we did, and it paid off.
  17. If you claim you think you had him on your radar for some time, why was it we beat you to his signing last year? if he is now of interest to you, it's going to cost you a lot more for his services.
  18. I know, it's a ridiculous amount but ten Million is paper talk, it won't be that much but it will beat our previous record of 6 Million for Mbeumo, if it's true we are signing him, If you want a player who's good for your team, you pay the price or miss out, two of our front three will be sold, perhaps all three and the money received will more than cover that supposed outlay with plenty left over, football is just not only a game, it's a business I'm afraid.
  19. I think they could all make it, SB & OW took a couple of years to come to fruition, BM has advanced so quickly in just a year it's amazing, to me he's the gem out of the three and will go places.
  20. Just been announced that he's been called up for the French under 21 team for their next round of matches, so things are looking on the up for him.
  21. For what you saw of him on TV at the end of the season I would agree with you, he was poor, Testing positive for Corona 19 virus obviously affected him more than anyone thought and left him slightly out of sorts, I can only say that over the course of the whole season I saw him play he was sensational for his age, performed far better than anyone would have imagined, so don't judge him on a few TV performances when he wasn't quite himself.
  22. I really think he could, he's adapted so well to English football in just one year, very strong and powerful with a good turn of speed as well, will do well with you, but with the attention he's now getting he won't come as cheap as chips anymore.
  23. You have obviously never seen him play live, but only on TV, He's good, If you had watched week in week out like me, I bet you would change your mind, he was purchased by us for the future, but he's progressed quicker than anyone thought, or did they?
  24. A Total Myth, that was pure press talk from nowhere, no release clause at all in his contract, and there never was or is, the only clause is that Exeter get a percentage of his sell on fee.
  25. That's not a bad shout, Thomas is a fantastic man manager and his rapport with all his players and supporters alike is second to none, when Dean Smith left for Villa, he was plunged in from assistant coach to be the main man, he got of to a dreadful start with no wins in 10 games, but our English owner is not a hire and fire man like so many foreign owners and gave him room to improve, that he did over time by changing how we played, to now bring us almost to the top with a winning run of 8 games on the trot, we now find ourselves on the brink of promotion via the playoffs , I think he could go a long way (hopefully with us) your system and ours is not to far apart, so he could well be a good fit for you.
