Went for Manchester. No Under 16's for Knebworth and I wanted to take my kids. Bit of cultural enrichment for them.

Definitely. My sons card would still be valid as he hasn't moved age groups. I have a digital ticket for him now. I remember being on the page to complete it but obviously, something distracted me and I never completed the form.

If you had a card last season, you had to apply to have a new one this year as I understood it. Cut off date was end of May I think. Not that they advertised it very well . I missed the deadline, so now I've got 3 kids to bloody scan in before I can enter, where as last season I could just send them in with their card and it was just me to fiddle with my phone. It really does take so much longer.

No, these have been around for a while. My lads played them 3 times and got battered in all 3 games. If you can't beat them, join them There's 2 new sides starting there at U10 this season I think.

This is me and my lad now. We clashed a lot, but again, there's other circumstances as to why we did. Whether I take the plunge again with the youngest is another story and two years away yet to be worth thinking about. He's joined Wigston Willow. They're moving into the local college and have full use of the 3G for the winter, so shouldn't lose any home games at least. It's also the most local club to us, so travel time for training and home matches is way down. Could walk to them if he could be bothered!

They really do kill all the joy in it. Maybe a case of them thinking they have more say as it's no longer new and fresh. From recent experience, I would stick your flag in the ground now and tell them this is how things are. Do not give them an inch. Tried this with my lot so many times. Some just do not want to learn and better themselves, again, it's the parent attitudes being represented through their kids.

Teams still going. Some of the parents have left, some still remain. My old assistant has took it on and roped some of the parents in to help else it would have simply folded. He found out quickly just how much I did to get games on etc. Wasn't just the parents, it reflected in their kids as well, as they had zero respect and were nobs an all! I stupidly didn't address the behaviour properly in an effort to try and keep the peace. Lad had his first match with his new side yesterday. Difference is night and day. He's playing higher level, with kids who all want the same thing, against kids who all want the same thing and the standard of football was brilliant from both sides. He was instrumental in creating the winning goal as well. The smile returned on his face as well, even my wife commented on how much he looked like he was enjoying himself again. I got to just watch him play football as well.

I didn't want thanks, just understanding. Hurts a bit because I considered a lot of these people as friends, turns out it was purely transactional on their part. Maybe that's where I went wrong, shouldn't have got pally with any of them. Lesson learned

Given up. Took my lad away from a poisonous group of parents and kids and just get to watch him play now

Moor Farm has fantastic facilities for a club of their, and to be fair, our size. I was really impressed when I visited. Nothing compared to the Seagrave health club and spa, but then ours is newer and shinier. If you were looking to invest in a club that had the infrastructure in place, that was up for sale at a low rate, they'd be the one.

They showed their hand with this when we played Spartak Moscow in the Europa League. They delayed everything to the last minute to announce ticket details making it almost impossible to get your visa sorted in time. They know full well what they are doing, It's Man Utd light, only we don't have a million day trippers ready to buy up the tickets the club think they do.

Gutting for Kimi today. Without the Merc being a biscuit, he'd be running away with it this year and rightly so. I loved his radio when he had the problem, he just wanted to carry on and see if he could get something, would have had Max not beached it

Thursday nights are though

That's who we lost to in the final. Absolute chancer. One of my teams parents watched their last couple of games and he said they manufactured their way into our bracket. He went on to tell me there's some in his side he needs to cut. Would you believe they didn't see the final and played in the group games he didn't want to win 🙄. We weren't really up to much. Played one good game out of 8. Some of mine couldn't be bothered being there yesterday. Got our tournament this afternoon in a tougher group, so at least I should be finished earlier 😂.

Yeah it's Thurmaston. There's a couple that have slipped in that are higher than the tournament flyer stated. The gap between level 1 and 2 is huge, 2 to 3 is massive. We've had some horrible games against level 2 sides and been battered, could say the same for level 3 .

Loads do it unfortunately. We had one at Ashby two weeks ago who had players clearly older than U9, one of them was as tall as me and just built like a pre-teenage boy! There's a team at a tournament we're doing this Saturday that I know have flip flopped between level 1 and high 2, but are at a 3-5 tournament. One of the only tournaments we stood a chance of being competitive at has been taken away already.
