  1. Not to take anything away from him as I personally dont care who he supports but he's a Manchester United fan or at least he was when he was younger. Maybe now he's grown up he's started supporting the team he plays for similar to someone like Carragher but in his own words he's not a lifelong fan, the journalist probably embellished that.
  2. Think he's making a joke that at this point we have forgotten what a striker is, let alone one doing well.
  3. What's worrying is that we are still looking at Ayew type signings in Antonio and Callum Wilson. I wouldnt be shocked if we renew Ayew, seems to be the exact kind of profile we are currently targeting in the transfer market - old and PL experienced. At least Ayew is different from Antonio and Wilson in that he's not a shoe in for be a regular for injuries.
  4. https://streamain.com/en/NVjjiRRRdmjklfM/watch Awful defending. Still 5 goals in a top 5 league halfway through the season is very impressive for a 38 yr old.
  5. He could play very well for the rest of the season and still not match Castledine's 10 goals in 16 games. It's up to Huddersfield fans what metrics they want to judge Alves by but i think it would be a bit unfair to expect the same output.
  6. They will probably get a replacement midfielder, they are already light as it is. If Alves does become their main man hopefully there isnt too much pressure to match Castledine's impressive goals tally.
  7. Streaky player whose main way of scoring goals is capitalising off mistakes made by the opposition's defence. He was always going to score against us
  8. You are also getting Julio Soler on loan. Someone who leicester really should be looking at.
  9. Same number of goals as Richard Kone and Mihailo Ivanovic
  10. Unfortunate for him and for us as he looked quite good when he played. Still it could be a blessing in disguise with Page getting more minutes.
  11. If we can break even that would be brilliant. Knowing us we will try to make a profit and he will leave for a minimal sum in a couple years.
  12. Should have never been a consideration to sign him in the first place, very worrying that it was. Complications were inevitable with that kind of injury at that age. There's a significant chance he has less than 15 games left in his career before retiring.
  13. Not joking just an idiot
  14. Playing devil's advocate, we were the same under Maresca yet won the league. There's clearly still a way to win without running.
  15. Has quality on the ball and energy off the ball, both of which we lack massively when he's not playing. Needs to start sooner rather than later if we want to turn things around.
  16. The football is rubbish but how much of that is down to the manager and how much is down to the players. We have a team that doesnt run and makes errors galore, when Louis Page came on we suddenly looked like a decent organised energetic side again, same as last week. Yes it is Cifuentes's fault that he is not starting Page but will a new manager play him when he comes in our will he revert to the safe options of more experienced players like Cordova Reid or God forbid Winks or Soumare. At least with Cifuentes he has Page close enough to the team that we might eventually make him first choice. Remember many on here were certain that RVN was our worst ever manager but looking at many of these same players at Championship level in hindsight he couldnt do much better with the hand he was dealt.
  17. Proper weirdos on here slating him while he has a man of the match performance. "One of the worst goalkeepers I've seen" give your head a wobble.
  18. Would rather Page starts in midfield over Skipp or Cordova reid. Some additional footballing ability in this team would go a long way
  19. Only French is correct For Dutch calling someone a nothing does not make sense, you want to say "een nietsnut" instead. Saverra is not a word in Italian, you have made that up.
  20. Westerlo are better because they dont employ players like Wout, im sorry to say.
  21. Not what I said, him scoring is obviously a positive but I think we would be better off with a midfielder who is more rounded and if that requires a trade off in goals then so be it. Even when Reid scores he usually does play well, same with the rest of the team when we win (which in my opinion is a result of having Reid in the starting lineup). Saying the aim of football is to score goals is a bit reductive, if that was the case every team would play 11 goal scorers. In reality football is a defensive game, the majority of players on the pitch are not there to score goals, they are there to maintain a structure that prevents the opposition from scoring. The majority of the best midfielders in history, Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo, Modric, Kroos are not goalscorers theyre there to facilitate other players. By playing a player in Reid who might nick us a goal every 3 or so games but cant keep a hold of the ball and struggles with passing we're exposing our other midfielders and our defence. We would be a lot better off with Page or Braybrooke playing instead of Reid, as we saw when Page came on today and we were able to actually spend some time in the opposition half. They might not have the shooting technique or movement in the box that Reid has but at least we won't be as much of a mess as we were in those first 70 minutes today. Yes I have probably criticised more technically gifted midfielders like Winks or Soumare for not scoring but they also lack defensively. We have too many midfielders who are one trick ponies and not enough that can properly general the midfield and make us a strong unit.
  22. He hasnt played midfield for us much in the championship and you could say the same for Skipp whose last good game was probably 3 games ago. Based on today I dont think it could hurt giving Choudhury a run in midfield. Skipp has had plenty of chances and aside from that false dawn a few weeks ago he has not delivered.
  23. Reid scores more than Ndidi but we were better off with Ndidi as an attacking midfielder under Maresca because he's got more to his game and helped the other players play to their potential. We just cant continue on this cycle of winning 3-1 then losing 3-1 depending on if players like Reid score or not. Having actual midfielders in midfield who protect the defense, control the game and also support the attackers is the only way for us to find consistency in this league. That period when Page came on and we were able to consistently sustain pressure on Sheffield United is what we need to be doing first, then we can worry about converting that pressure into goals, maybe that might mean sticking BCDR on the wing instead of Mavididi. Cordova Reid sadly doesnt have the technical ability required to play midfield in this league to a consistent level.
  24. Can't wait till he starts playing regularly in 6 months time and when he gets up to speed within a few games we're asking ourselves why we had him on the bench/out the squad for so long.
  25. Tidy and sideways is at least better than BCDR getting the ball stuck under his feet. He also did more than pass sideways in the limited minutes he was on, helped us get up the pitch and pin back Sheffiled United for a sustained period.
