  1. Totally agree. Both exceptional forwards but there’s no doubt who’s record is more impressive.
  2. I still think our competition is the “Big 6” + Everton and Wolves. Being optimistic here: Top 6 again considering the transfer windows some of the clubs have had would be absolutely brilliant (a decent run in Europa would be even more optimistic)
  3. It’s only just hit me that we beat Man City 5-2 at the Etihad without Pereira, Ndidi or Maddison starting. Mind blowing.
  4. He looks like he’s lost a lot of weight and has got fitter. His performances so far have been exceptional, just praying he can be consistent this season. If he does, we’ll have a fight on our hands to keep him next summer! EDIT: Praying for our performances sake, not the fact that big clubs would be in for him of course... the above reads wrong!
  5. His record against the “Big 6” speaks for itself. The fact he has more goals in less games than main strikers for some of the best premier league teams ever is huge. Love it.
  6. The best thing about tonight is the amount of Chelsea fans that are rattled on twitter because Leicester fans are saying Vardy is better than Drogba. Love to see it.
  7. This coupled with us reaching the quarter finals actually blows my mind.
  8. Hit the nail on the head there. The next step is trying to solidify the progress and make it sustainable. Fingers crossed!
  9. And to think it the picture included the five years prior it would show how unreal the past decade has been. Sometimes I genuinely forget we finished 14th in our “Great Escape”!
  10. Not so much a crazy stat as such, but a nice illustration that shows that even without the anomaly of the incredible 15/16 season, we’re still making good progress - pretty much every year too.
  11. 1. Man City 2. Liverpool 3. Man Utd 4. Chelsea 5. Wolves 6. Arsenal 7. Leicester 8. Southampton 9. Tottenham 10. Everton 11. Burnley 12. Palace 13. Sheff Utd 14. Newcastle 15. West Ham 16. Leeds (17) Brentford 17 (18) Brighton 18 (19) WBA 19 Fulham 20. Villa ( ) if Brentford get promoted over fulham of course. No doubt this will change once the transfers get moving!
  12. That’s both Lingard and Solanke against us.
  13. As others have stated, the issue isn’t Vardy, it’s our reliance on Vardy. As soon as his goals dry up our form plummets. Opposing teams know that Barnes, Perez or Nacho do not provide the same goalthreat as Vardy, so if they null Vardy they null most of our threat. Other teams around us (bar Arsenal) have more than one significant goal threat. No doubt about it we need more, which in modern day football is usually being provided by the widemen (Neymar, Sancho, Sterling, Salah etc) and this truly is our downfall. Hopefully this is addressed this summer. I hate to say it bu
  14. That’s what I’m getting at. Of course winning 9-0 is unreal, but I feel it went to the players heads too much which made us all get a bit too high expectations. Overplaying thinking we were bigger and better than we are and then taking a HUGE confidence battering when Liverpool and TAA annihialated us at the KP (when we were seen as the second best team in the league). The Southampton 9-0, Rodgers to Arsenal rumours and being smashed by the top two sides in the league somehow played a big detrimental part in our season.
  15. I hope you are! Exactly, Spurs to me always seem to overperform based on what they have. There’s not many ‘ambitious’ signings they’ve made in the past 5years or so when you dig deep in to their transfers. Vertonghen and Alderweireld will be huge losses too. Yes, no doubt that Lampard / OGS will inevitably be replaced at some point (they may well surprise us) but Chelsea and United’s financial clout sits them well above Arsenal and Spurs.
  16. Yeah we definitely threw away a huge opportunity. Let’s hope this spurs the lads on (much like the Watford play off moment did) for next season. I’m pessimistic about that though. In terms of top 4 I agree - Chelsea, City, United, Liverpool will push on now. But we can definitely break the top 6, personally I see Tottenham stagnating soon if i’m honest.
  17. And unfortunately those extra 4-5 points which the top four usually get are the ones which caused us to miss out
  18. I’m not arguing that it doesn’t happen, of course it does. But we were beating Bournemouth, Burnley, Southampton, Watford & to a lesser extent Chelsea and didn’t win any of those games. Add in draws to Brighton & Norwich and you have to admit we should be winning some of those games? Obviously the first 15 games caused expectation, but it’s worrying.
  19. Agreed. Personally I think winning 9-0 was the worst thing that happened to us, players performances went downhill from there & Rodgers was linked with Arsenal. He hasn’t been the same since
  20. I’m not part of the Rodgers Out clan. But do you think we should be dropping points to 4 out of the bottom 6? We took 1 point from Norwich this season and look at the difference between 3rd and 5th. or flip it the other way - Norwich got nearly 1/5th of their points from us this year...
  21. The “punching above our weight” comments from him and Sky really p*ssed me off
  22. I agree in part. We have some clear areas where we need to improve. My issue with Rodgers style is we’re far too predictable, teams sit back and push us wide then just head everything away that comes to them and we have nobody to meet the crosses. Vardy as brilliant as he is is never going to consistently beat CBs in the air.
  23. There’s no doubt if that was offered before the season everybody would of taken it. The issue as others have stated is the lack of plan B and complete turnaround of form. Teams figure us out and we have no way through when a team “parks the bus” and plays the counter against us. the worrying sign is that over the past 25 league games we’re 12th on form - with losses to Norwich, Bournemouth, Burnley and further draws against Watford, Brighton and Norwich. We have capitulated and Rodgers doesn’t have any form of answer and that’s my issue. FYI I’m not calling for him
  24. Can’t disagree with this. Based off of the last 25 games we’re 12th on form in the league. This includes dropping points to all 3 relegated sides (losing to both Bournemouth and Norwich). Of course with where we’ve finished it can be accepted, but the way we’ve played has been far from convincing and this worries me quite a bit. Next season could be a huge flop if fans base expectations off of our first 10-15 games!
