  1. Not really I don't give a to$$ what anyone else pays, but if I'd paid an equal amount into a private pension I could have retired happily by now. It's all too easy to lay the blame at the door of the older age group but we've paid are dues thank you. I've supported my club for a long time, even when I'm at the other side of the planet, like I am right now. If they want to support the pensioner group all power to them. When will people stop begrudging others a little help now and then in return for their investment over many years. I'm pretty sure the next generation won't turn it down if it's offered either.
  2. I've paid a huge amount more in tax and NI every month over the last 40years, and that doesn't include my years in the services. I can look forward to my measly £200 a week state pension in a few years time, so a bit of discount before I shuffle off this mortal coil isn't just appreciated it's fricking paid for, and when I do go, what I've paid for will be snaffled up by the next generation whether they've paid anything or not, in one way or another! I hate that argument from younger generations. Wait till you're old and can't afford one of your life's pleasures! Not that every match so far has been a pleasure mind you. Rant over 🤷‍♂️
  3. Maybe I’m being pessimistic, but the way I see it is that a transfer embargo plus points deduction is double jeopardy. The points deduction on top of a transfer embargo almost ensures that you run the very real risk of being relegated to a lower league which entails lower revenue from league position, lower revenue from gate receipts, less or no TV revenue and the loss of revenue from sales of players as the vultures swoop to cherry pick from what was a half decent team. These are seemingly draconian measures which could lead, in the worst case scenario to exactly what the FFP rules were instigated to try to prevent. A successful business plan surely works on investment to increase future profit or streamlining by keeping the most efficient, strongest part of the business to build on going forward. Application of both the punishments appears to be a “ hamstringing” process to push a club into years of rebuilding on a very low budget. How on earth would any club outside the top, highest earning clubs in the premier league think that it was a good idea to vote for this kind of ruling? Am I wrong?
  4. Just asking but is it possible to open a new forum the the women's team so that I don't have to scroll down the topics to look for updates? If it's possible, I think they at least deserve a space of their own, especially with their achievements so far this season and hopefully ongoing?
  5. I'm passed hoping, this year has been especially carp for me, my wife left me by text message while I was away at work, terminal illness in the family and more than likely relegation will cap off an absolutely depressing period in my life. Although most of that stuff puts football results into a different perspective it still feels like a kick in the teeth. I guess a huge win on the lottery might offset some of the pain and thats slightly more likely than a result against Liverpool, Newcastle or even West Ham! Surely something must go right. My old man has been a Leicester fan for 85 years, I hate the thought that this is the last season he might see with our glory years ending so poorly but I'm now firmly in the 'no hope' camp sadly 😒
  6. Seriously?? What kind of a supporter are you? I suffer the disappointment of not starting the season as well as I hoped but I could never hope that my team “get d1cked” by anyone! Shake it off mate, I’m hoping that they win and start the season proper. If they don’t, I’ll be gutted…..but still a supporter, if BR goes then so be it but I’m always Leicester, win or lose.
  7. Sick to death of this forum of so called "fans" berating every player like they could do better, what a bunch of self entitled twits. I can understand the frustration and disappointment but just listen to yourselves! We're 2:1 down at Chelsea ffs! I remember the days these matches were right offs and a bonus if we got anything at all! Your match day thread is no longer that, just a platform to moan, what are you all? 12 years old??? I'm out of here, can't stand to hear people talking about my team like this any more. Give yourselves a shake ffs!
  8. This…in spades! I generally avoid the match threads these days, I have trouble believing that some of these people are actually Leicester fans, they certainly are not “supporters” by any definition of the word! Some of the comments are spat out without any thought, like some sort of football Tourette’s. There seems to be more professional football managers behind keyboards than available in the league, begs the question, “Why aren’t they managing?” Well, the answer to that is that apparently half the players involved with the goals last night would have been substituted before that happened and several of the team would have been moved on last January! I’ve worked out that by now, we would have no medical staff, no coaches, no manager and only Vards, Little Wes and on the odd occasions, Kasper, Madders an JJ on the pitch! 🤷🏻‍♂️….. Just my opinion.
  9. I recall watching the ‘69 final with my dad when I was 9yrs old, he is a life long Leicester fan as I have been. 52 years later I find myself in Azerbaijan, in isolation for work purposes while he is at home fighting hard against the dreaded big “C”. So my day will be filled with mixed emotions, excitement, joy, worry, nervousness and some regret that I cant watch this match with him but overall, pride, pride at my dads strength and determination and pride in the team that we support who have achieved so much in our lifetimes. I only pray that our boys can all give 100% for all our supporters, wherever they are and whatever predicament they find themselves in today and maybe, just maybe, raise that silverware for my dad, for me and everyone of us that hold our city’s team so dear. C’mon Leicester! Let’s do this!
  10. Just boarded a flight to Istanbul and been told to switch off my phone..... I don't know if I can bear the wait to see the result... or the anguish of seeing it on arrival there 😱🤞🤞🤞 Pleeeease win! C'mon Leicester!!
  11. The match is live on Bein over here in Azerbaijan but obviously it won't start till midnight and as I have to be up at 4.30am for work I'll have to watch the replay tomorrow so I won't be on here till after I've watched that!
