I just mean they are just a better side than that South Korea team who were very… fortunate… shall we say, to make it as far as they did. With Mitoma I could see them going last 8, who knows, maybe beyond. They are tactically very good for an international side, their games should be good watches.

There is a very real possibility that Iran have further people removed from their party every time they arrive in the US. They have been forced to move base to Mexico and are only allowed to fly in to US on game days, have to go through immigration every time. Already lost 14 people from their party. They are set up to fail, will be very impressive if they manage to do anything at all in the tournament.

We are arguably better off coming second in the group given where it would put us in the knockout draw if we come first. Round of 16 would be 1am uk time in Estadio Azteca, Mexico City. High altitude (2000+m above sea level), high temperatures, and the most likely team to face in that game is winner of Group A… Mexico, so also a major home advantage as it’s a proper football nation. Very good chance England could lose in that scenario imo. Imagine staying up till 3am to watch us go out to Mexico, players panting and sweating by the end.
