Fulham v Leicester - Pre-match thread (August 24th)
TrickyTrevLeftPeg replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
Same side. Unchanged. Ayew on bench -
Really impressed with him every time I've seen him. Player we should have been looking at.
-
Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)
TrickyTrevLeftPeg replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
6mill for ayew is utterly disgusting. Just no. What on earth are we thinking bringing this guy in -
An absolutely brilliant ref and an even better man. He refereed lots of games and was a big part of Leicestershire football. Always made time for people and will be a huge loss to local football.
-
Kristiansen is a competition winner. Constantly chasing shadows. He absolutely dreadful and a left hand side with him and Reid is just utterly appalling. We need reinforcements in that left back position.
-
Buoanotte the only positive. The game is not even a contest. It's actually embarrassing. No patterns of play, no style and getting absolutely pulled apart in our own back yard. If this was a boxing contest they'd have stopped the fight. How it is only 1-0 I never know.
-
Matter of time.
-
See earlier post. That's fine but we don't have a lot of money to spend when we have glaring need of creative players up top
-
Dreadful signing. Genuinely not what we need.
-
Already said earlier in the thread that winks and skipp midfield just won't work. It's not powerful enough, athletic enough, won't be creative or score enough. Especially in the premier League. If he's coming into effectively rotate with winks then fair enough but It's a hard no from me especially when we have other glaring necessities and a poor budget. We are not in a position to waste money.
-
Cooper is absolutely the fall guy but fair credit to him for taking what in all honesty and impossible job. People saying why would anyone want to play for cooper yet last year or couple years ago at forest they made like 40 signings. It's not cooper.. it's the board and incompetent director of football. There has been a number of mess ups over the years and they should rightly be targeted but this season it's clear we don't want to spend much and are totally preparing to be a championship club
-
I think If Enzo was still in charge I think he would have wanted some of them changes being made. There was noise from him that he wanted better footballing operations with the club. With Enzo going and cooper coming in. It's gone back to being... All is fine when In reality it's nothing but an absolute car crash
-
Looks good Just need to sort the 4 defenders behind them 😂
-
If he has a great season and keeps us up you really shouldn't care less.
-
At the moment we have Choudhury whose been given a new contract. Ricardo could play that role as evidenced last season. Soumare aswell Hamza and soumare are not great and I'd have tried to move on them both on but we are where we are. We do need to address the CM role eventually but our budget isn't going to be great. Our glaring issues is goals in the side and buying skipp won't help that. Hence why it's a no from me at this time. Skipp isn't going to what to come here and play second fiddle anyway and so a winks and skipp midfield isn't viable
-
An absolute huge no from me. Dosen't create enough dosen't score enough and too similar to winks. He's not mobile enough or athletic enough to be in a midfield when we already have winks. He's not what we need at this moment in time. Money can be better spent elsewhere in the glaring positions we all know we desperately need.

Who do you want for next season in the PL
TrickyTrevLeftPeg replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
If cooper wants to play this formation where Kristiansen is left wide open then ideally we need 3 players. A new quality left wing back and who can defend, beat a man and put a decent delivery in. Patrick Dorgu from Lecce would be for me but Alfie doughty could be a good shout. A box to box/creative No 10 midfielder similar to Ndidi in terms of height and strength but can also create and chip in with goals. We seem to be linked with Richardson who is the type of player we need but whether he's creative enough is the big question. If we got Richardson for the ndidi role and then Asprilla or Carvalho for number 10 then that would be absolutely ideal but never going to happen. A strong mobile striker who can hold the ball up and win fouls but knows where the back of the net is. Fotis Ioannidis would be perfect but yet again Adebayo from Luton could be reasonable. Whatever happens we need some fresh blood into the side and quickly -
Steven Bergwijn - signed for Al-Ittihad

These are the type of player Cooper will want. Previous premier league experience. Can see this having legs -
Scores bangers but not sitters. Can't control the ball but when he does have it ge can hold the ball up well and bring people into play. There is definitely better out there but loan option with option to buy might be a good idea. We are going to be defending a lot this year so need a big target man who can hold the ball up and draw fouls to get us up the pitch. I still think adebayo is the better option

Saturday 3 August v FC Augsburg pre-season friendly
TrickyTrevLeftPeg replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I've seen enough from last few games (even tho it's pre season) that we have no structure or idea and won't even be competitive this season Unless we purchase around 5 new starters -

VK is probably the most least effective footballer I've ever seen. Can't beat a man Can't put a ball in Isn't quick Isn't strong. Absolutely no right foot whatsoever. Couple that with daka up front. You're starting with 9 men already. Then if someone has a bad game you're down to 8 or even 7 -
Who do you want for next season in the PL
TrickyTrevLeftPeg replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
The lack of links and the players we are linked too is just alarming. If the club are already thinking it will be relegation then Instead of ayew we should have been buying youthful championship players (Edwards, greaves etc) who could possibly make step up. Wouldn't mind if we did get relegated and had a bigger resale value all whom have now moved on to teams who we will rival. Hamer and Sara should be targeted. If cooper wants a forward with PL experience which seems to be his mantra go and get adebayo from Luton. 10 goals last season and he will hold the ball up/press/ and give us some height which Daka lacks. We need a number of players at least 4 and need them bedding in quickly. Strikers, midfielders all whom can add goals. The fact we also can't seem to move players on and giving new contracts to players who won't be good enough in premier league speaks volumes about the clubs direction it's heading in. -

So sad. RIP shakey. Thanks for everything -
Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)
TrickyTrevLeftPeg replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
The fact it states ' top target' shows how far we've fallen. -
Large problem is there is a massive lack of goals across the team. Daka won't score enough. Vardy is 38. Cannon the jury is still out Fatawu and mavididi and reed may chip in with a few each. Choudhury, ndidi, winks, soumare won't score any nor will any of the defenders chip in with many A new striker and ACM is needed but even that won't be enough. We need more goalscorers or people who can chip in across the board.
