  1. Only Leicester City would have Vestegaard and Souttar come up for a corner, just to play it short. Thought we were excellent, dominated and so exciting to see Maresca imprint his style on the squad. Seeing Wilf burst down the right wing was so bizarre but he certainly didn't look out of place in doing so.
  2. Hopefully he finds himself something! Think I read something saying that he had so many family bereavements just after leaving Leicester, which was bound to take its toll on his professional career. He's not the right player for us to take back, but I always thought he was a fantastic servant to the club and always fought for the shirt, deserving a move away when he wanted to try something new.
  3. Pretty good chance that Maddison's only trophy in his playing career will be with Leicester - which is hilarious. I'm glad he's agreed personal terms with them - I can't see the club being too stubborn as we definitely need to start our rebuild this week, so anything from 40 million with some add ons should seal it.
  4. Don't mind that there's not immediate activity. I feel like for a brand new manager to come in and assess what needs to be done, a good week of work before making rash decisions will likely help us in the long run. I think we have to be more patient that expecting us to be ****ed because we haven't moved in the transfer market - it's open for a long time yet and it's a very long season ahead. We've made so so many rash transfers since winning the league and ended up much worse off because of it. We've got to trust Enzo and let him do his job before assuming he can't.
  5. Ffs a player who can't get into Wolves' team was joint top in the assists chart last season. If Ricky P stays with us and stays fit I reckon he'll break the record.
  6. I feel like we already have a player with similar attributes in Soumare who should improve under Maresca's coaching - just needs his confidence back and he'll dominate the Championship.
  7. Probably resulting from Brendan's tyranny, Ndidi looked so shot of confidence that he became quite difficult to watch towards the end of the season. He seems like a really decent person and I wish him well - filling Kante's boots was pretty much impossible, but for a while, Big Wilf managed it.
  8. Good to make that much back to be honest. Reasonably solid and one of the few that actually looked like he cared about us losing games, so I wish him well. If we keep Ricky P fit this season he'll probably win the league by himself this season.
  9. Gives us something to be excited about, rather than the same, tired faces. Arguably, Man City are the only other team with training facilities as modern and high-tech as Seagrave; evidently, they maximise the potential from the facilities. Better still, Maresca has had a chance to see how the best coach in world football uses them to get the best possible results. Judging by the way Tielemans was running towards the end of the season, Dean Smith probably reintroduced Bovril as part of player recovery. Will be good to have someone in with a modern philosophy and knowhow to make the most of the high-tech facilities on offer. With an entirely new squad, Maresca can build a new culture too - one that doesn't constantly need to refer back to our PL winning success; that era is over. We need a new one now.
  10. Honestly just get him out - seems like an absolute passenger who has zero emotional response regardless of what's happening on the pitch.
  11. Much needed leadership in the dressing room and would bring some Andy King vibes that served us so well last time we got promoted. He ran our current midfield ragged last time we played Fulham too - which doesn't say a lot, but he looks like he's a fighter too.
  12. This. Precisely what the **** has Brendan Rodgers won in his life that would lead him to not take a European competition seriously.
  13. Not sure I fully agree - I think 5-6 of their best players will still leave and they'll command smaller fees than Maddison and Barnes - they will be left with a very mediocre Championship squad and won't be able to attract the quality that we will. Plus they're getting David Brent Todger Rodgers 2.0 - I'd rather be a shambles than that.
  14. I still love Youri and wish him the best. Can you imagine scoring THAT goal to win the FA Cup, only to have some twat with lips as dry as a camel's arsehole tell you that you're only good enough to 'maybe survive the drop'. The perfect opportunity to sell him came along and we wanted to cling to the completely misguided hope that we'd qualify for Europe again this season (or the one before) which would make him want to say. I think poor communication and understanding what his hopes and ambitions are as a player left him with no choice but 'run down his contract'.
  15. Really good commercial revenue if there's nothing contractually obliging us to play our first team. If it makes financial sense for Liverpool, Tottenham, Bayern and Roma to do it, then we certainly can't afford to miss out. Send the U23s to play the game, spread the global brand and don't let it impact our preparation for the first game in the Championship.
