Premier League Thread 2023/2024
Fear Of The Fox replied to Nalis's topic in General Football and Sport
There are a lot of facts that show the league is degrading badly: - 3 teams (Sheff Utd, Burnley, Luton) of League 1 quality. Luton a bit better but their defense is Sunday League quality. - Points needed to stay up: 29. Twenty nine! - The 4th team in the league, which will have CHL football next season, was just humiliated by a Greek team (2-6 over two legs) sitting 4th in one of the worst leagues in Europe. That Marinakis' Olympiakos team changed around 5 managers this season. - Teams are getting points deducted left and right, then they get some points back. Meanwhile some other teams have 1110 charges. - Rules of the sport are changing on the fly, officiating is a joke, VAR is used by the same corrupted officials. And I can go on and on. -
Other European leagues moved their cup finals to the Butchers, Influencers and Content Creators. It's going to be a cup final first, league games will follow.

They had a series of games where they should have won. As usual their defensive unit is non existent. Even if they win today Chelsea is due to a horrible performance and loss. -

Totally agree. There's also another side of this: The total domination of Man City provides a greatest legendary status to our PL title. -

Unless Spurs pull the performance of the century against Man City the title is now done and dusted. It's Spurs though, they might be up 2-0 at the 90min and lose 2-3 by the 95min. Man City are champions already. Oh, the GD is also reduced to -2. This means even a draw at Spurs would leave them with a chance to smash 7 or 8-0 West Ham on the final day which ofc is doable. -
PL was founded to gradually eliminate all these English football traditions. You can't grant the corrupted a protection status, they aren't there to protect. They're there to destroy.
-
You can also add baseball there (which I love tbh). NBA for a pure basketball fan like me is becoming unbearable now with the stupid changes of rules especially regarding ball travelling. American college basketball is still absolutely top fun with huge amount of fans in US and worldwide. In general a lot of sports are getting these stupid changes which imo are part of a larger scale political plan by corrupted "elitists" to frustrate more the people.

Klopp: "Scrap the cup replays". Flies the next day to the Saudi Arabia of Butchers and New York.
-
It's the same clubs, managers and players which tour every summer like a circus of clowns in the US and Asia. I don't even care tbh. Make them play hundreds of games per season and drop like flies. They're destroying the sport every day in every single way. I have no sympathy at all.

I'm just going with the difference in quality. If Olympiakos can easily dismantle in 2 legs the 4th PL team I'd say things are looking very bleak for English football. It's not an one off game, it's 2 games. Olympiakos is 4th in the Greek league.

Absolutely shocking defending. Are they sure CHL football is good for them next season?

What do you think about the Villa game tonight guys? I believe Villa will score 5 or even 6 goals, 0-5, 1-6 it's my prediction.

They've messed so badly the rules of the sport it's becoming unbearable to watch any game of football. Why the linesman was so keen to raise his flag in milliseconds? Sometimes the attacker is 50 miles offside and they let the play unfold for another half an hour. Wtf is this joke? -

This Real Madrid vs Spurs game turned out to be good actually. Oh wait. -

"The guys on Sky"? Really now? If you believe this blatant 100% foul wasn't a violation I have a way for us to win the PL next season. We sign a 6.4-7.0ft guy and one of these YouTubers that have mastered corners ball placement (hundreds of them, they can pinpoint 99 out of 100 corner kicks to curl in specific heights near the goal line). Profit. There are football rules which were written specifically to avoid manipulation of the game. If you want to change or interprete them to your own likings it's going to be mayhem. P. S. I don't care what happened with same incidents in other games. Officiating is a disgrace, they're all incompetent. I'm talking about the rules strictly. -

So you're telling me you want to change the GK interference rule also and ruin an already fckd sport even more? There's a certain timing window and way to challenge a ball from the GK and it's been like that for decades. This protection of the GK has or had specific rules based on timing and positioning of the challenge. Suddenly now a brigade of new "generation" you're all coming to change fundamental rules and values of the sport ruining it day by day. -

I don't mind different opinions and I fully accept them. When we're twisting rules of the sport though it's a different thing. -

It's a foul again if two outfield players are involved. Why are you guys trying to make the sport more complex? Stick with the basic foundation of rules that made football popular. You're going to ruin everything for all of us eventually. -

There was full contact. If both were jumping up on a straight angle it would have been a debate. These situations were clear in 80s and 90s and nobody was arguing. -

Absolutely mate. You don't even see this stuff in MLS. -

How this team is not in a relegation battle is bizarre. -

Yes they do but that wasn't the case here. If they allow this they'll open a can full of worms. Keeper was shoved and pushed there. Please don't destroy the sport more. By common sense you can tell which situations are 50-50. -

Huh? What do you mean unlucky? There's a certain rule about GKs. It was a clear foul. -

I've never seen this in Sunday League and I'm in my late 40s. A throw in around the midfield, a player receiving the ball and cruising into the box with another 2-3 options left and right of him. He's still going unchallenged, the guy could easily walk the ball into the net. Man Utd are a joke.
