Spot on. We’ve regressed tactically under Marti as the season has progressed. It’s too early to ask for Marti’s head but he definitely needs to address our blunt attacking displays and pretty quickly too.

It’s why I will never agree with some of the revisionism that Cooper was anything other than a terrible appointment for us. Enzo may or may not have kept us up but one thing that I can confidently say is that he would have never approved the signings of Ayew, Reid or Skipp.

Which is fair enough but do you follow up that question with your rationale as to why you asked it? I personally think Jakub is fine when considering our financial situation. Out of curiosity, what would you do with our keeper situation?

Agree wholeheartedly. Kasper is considered one of the best keepers that we’ve had but he also had a habit of occasionally parrying the ball into a dangerous position.

Because we didn’t get into good areas as your post suggested. You said “Our patterns of play were good in the first half” Which is why I said that’s a half truth, we played amongst ourselves in our own half/middle of the park, if that’s good patterns of play then we have a different opinion on that. Good patterns of play, in my eyes means we create clear cut chances, we actually have shots on target, that in a modern world would see us having a higher xG than 0.8 or whatever ours was.

This is a half truth in my eyes. We looked tidy in positions of the pitch that we couldn’t hurt them. Enzo always spoke about boxes and overloads, we don’t commit enough bodies in the final third which is compounding by Ayew being Ayew. We were toothless all match and had one shot on target which was a tame header from Jannik.

With 3 games in a week, Marti is hopefully forced to make changes. I have a feeling that VK got minutes last night as he’ll be starting, which infuriates me. We have very little athleticism on the pitch yet Aluko offers that in abundance and had some very impressive minutes in pre-season….give the lad a chance FFS.

He seems to invert more like Cooper than Enzo. I love Ricky P but way too much was asked of him last night and was clearly why Mason swapped Johnston and Lling-Junior at HT. I actually miss Wilf’s runs to the by lines as we at least had an obvious play to break teams down. Now it’s switch to Stephy or Abdul and just hope.

I’ve seen this a few times now, what about the first half was actually that good? We kept the ball a bit better than other games? We had one shot on target all game. We could have carried on until Super Sunday and barely troubled their keeper.

Only to bomb one out of the squad as soon as Reid is fit again. Marti’s (albeit small sample size) track record here for promoting from the academy is pretty hideous if look deep enough.

Surely someone who can “play” (word used loosely) as a striker when you need a goal is better than Reid who looked like a competition winner last season.

We have been shocking this half haven’t we?

For those saying that we’re unlucky or it’s been our best first half all season must have been watching something different to me. What clear chances have we created? It reminds me of my last few years at Sunday league, we had some very good players but most of our legs had gone compared to the 18/20 year olds just being able to run more, so often created very little but ended up losing to individual errors/worldies etc. Toothless.

We’ve got absolutely no ideas have we? Poor crossing into the ball when they have CB’s like Phillips and Mepham and a CB playing RB. Marti has been winding me up increasingly each week with his disregard of the academy but his failed obsession with Ayew as our 9 is grinding my gears.
