  1. He's pretty hindered on the wholesale changes part though.
  2. Can you imagine being 3 goals down before you even get to half time? Me neither.
  3. Cos we're not as good as Boro?
  4. Arse crack.
  5. The relegation will not be televised!
  6. Bit weird, cos last time I saw something about him it was pretty positive for him there. He's their captain, has a very good goal/assist record playing as a 10 and still had a year left.
  7. He's "available". Personally don't expect him to start.
  8. No, cos that's the scoreline Tops bet on with BC Game.
  9. Only clicked a minute ago that we'll see Maswanhise too...
  10. Maybe that's why he didn't get on in the last game.
  11. The guy's done!
  12. What is this feeling?
  13. Watching the loanees and a few ex-players is more enjoyable yes. I even watched Angers v Lens yesterday to see how Edouard was getting on. Got an assist for the first in a 2-1 win. He's doing alright...
  14. He can just claim someone else runs his socials.
  15. Great band.
  16. A 24 hour clock ain't.
  17. Hopefully trying to curry favour with his soon to be teammates and fans in January.
  18. He's our most productive player. Simmer down.
  19. Kiss of death that...
  20. I do think there's an element of fans that think that playing the young players is a quick fix to better results, and while I'd like to see more of them, I don't necessarily believe that's the case. However, the point made about the youngsters is this. Would they be any worse? Very few senior players are putting in performances where they look undroppable. The experienced heads were responsible for the game being over as a competition 4 minutes in yesterday. I think our u21 side probably holds out for at least 5 minutes... If the older players are putting in the performances and getting the results then gripes about youth are just people with an agenda to make complaints wherever possible. But when they're not getting the results, and they're not getting the performances, and they're making basic errors and most damningly they don't seem to be putting in the effort, then complaints about not using the young players are justified. They'd be gaining experience and developing. Evans for example did not look particularly at it in preseason, he didn't really make much of an impression. But assuming he'd be played at CF, which goal machine would he unjustly be taking a few minutes from? 1 goal Daka? Competition winning Carranza? You could easily have Daka start with Evans coming on later on for a few minutes. If there's better alternatives, ok play them, but Carranza is evidently shite. Ramsey was first choice at 10. He's injured so understandably Reid gets the nod. So Page (or Monga) should be the bench 10. Alukos red will be thrown at him, but Ramsey got a red in 30 minutes, but pretty much became our nailed on 10 after that. If the fullbacks keep operating as they do he'll be back in.
  21. Newport fans ain't having him anymore.... Man of the match Barrow home | All Things County - Newport County Fan Forum
  22. Agree with this. And it's probably for the best. The possible deduction in the Premier League meant that potential candidates were slim pickings. If we'd have gone into that summer after Enzo left knowing we weren't getting a deduction then I think it's fair to say we'd have looked a much brighter prospect to any suitors and could have got a better man in the job. Same goes for now. We're languishing in the wrong half of the table, we've got a squad that'll need a rebuild regardless of where we end up and so a points deduction kills the potential for a replacement to come in and be a success in the short term, and short term is all managers get for the most part. If we get the points deduction this season and stay in the division we'd look a much better prospect for a new gaffer in the summer, simply because they get a clean slate rather than a deficit to work from.
  23. But that's evidently not the case anyway. A good manager can get an average group of players to more than mediocrity. How many times have we heard of teams being better than the sum of their parts?
