I don’t think Southgate would be a bad appointment, he’d sort out the internal structure of the club and start to build something straight away. Would not stand for any bellends in the squad and signings would, personality wise more akin to Pearsons. Football wise I’m not sure but the options out there aren’t great at all.

No his diagonals aren’t as good, but honestly ( and I hate him ) Vestergaard is unmatched at slinging the ball through the lines and if you watch VVD, he’s not as good at that as Vest

The squad was in a fantastic place that year off the back of an amazing end to the season, we were riding a wave. Famously Claudio didn’t change much. It’s in dire straights now. So much more work is needed now on the squad than it was then. It’s a much much harder job to come into.

I think the two things can be true, Cooper never should have been appointed, but we also shouldn’t leave it late to appoint a manager. The amount of squad turnover this team needs is vast, we know at this club signings are manager led. We need one in to begin. Last time we got our key business done early under Enzo, and started the season on fire. Leeds got theirs done late that year, had a slow start and that ultimately cost them promotion. We have to get someone in asap, we’re simply wasting time. Of course it has to be the right man. We got it wrong with Cooper, he was a panic as we didn’t expect Enzo to leave. But we can’t say this club haven’t had time to find their man, it’s been 7 weeks since we’ve known our fate.

We’re a shambles but I can’t see even us waiting untill the 1st of July to sack Ruud and get in another manager. That is just way too long, something must happen in the next 10 days

Of course I do agree, but his career is not far from over. 1 more year on big money before moving on a free (which is notoriously good for playing clubs off each other for a strong wage) I feel like makes sense. Fair play to him I guess for valuing football over cash, I’m used to guys like Yannik, Bouba, Daka, Ward etc who all would have left years ago if not for their wage.

Mixed about him leaving as if he can stay fit like the last time, he’s the best player in the championship again. I’m also surprised he wants to go as he’ll never get a wage close to what we’re paying him. Probably right though, but what a player he was and sometimes still is

Including West Ham, we took 16 points out of 23, Rodger’s was even asked in an interview if we could get it after that game. At the West Ham game, after all the players/ staff had gone in, Rodger’s came back out and up to our fans for the first time in many games and was given a huge ovation from everyone. We were only on the way up then, what happened next nobody was predicting.

I thought we’d get Europe again after West Ham away in 22/23 just before the World Cup, we were playing some serious football again. Rodger’s was given a huge ovation after that game also. Then we returned from the winter break and were never the same.

The amount of people who were happy with Kasper going and Ward being our number 1 going into that 22/23 season should not be forgotten, it was not a controversial move at the time. Last game of the season prior v Watford he was class
