  1. 1996 was the most dramatic but this was the most emphatic. I know we got 102 points in 2014 but until the late season wobble we were miles ahead. The difference now is that it feels like we belong and are considered a premier league club whereas in the past we were known as a yo-yo club.
  2. Except the billionaire owner and their track record over a decade. No nothing at all.
  3. The fans would have done no such thing. They’d have complained endlessly and some would have stopped going altogether. Fans don’t give a fig about financial compliance and why should they, it’s not their money? Fans care about winning and the excitement of following their team. They want their team to be the best it can be. Under your scenario there’d have been no top five finishes, no exciting runs in Europe, and no FA Cup. If the price of that is a 6 point deduction or a luxury fine I think I’ll cope.
  4. Except they wouldn’t play in the PL at all
  5. The existing system is better for the top 6 because they will never be punished under it. At least with this they might be
  6. It’s not a balls-up as you so eloquently put it. It’s a strategy to achieve success on the field and by anyone’s measure over the last decade it’s been spectacularly successful.
  7. But morons would not have achieved so much success. They are not morons and to call them such is not only disrespectful but downright ridiculous.
  8. No it isn’t. It’s a great club that has performed brilliantly for the most part over the last decade.
  9. He was talking about potential owners not managers or other employees.
  10. Personally I think it’s a wonderful club and I am extremely lucky to be a supporter. We’ve seen things over the last 10 years that were truly amazing. You go and support someone else if you prefer.
  11. Mismanagement is incompetence but thi is a deliberate strategy with a clear long term business objective. The only fly in the ointment is the way the big 6 have designed FFP and P and S rules to protect their own interests.
  12. Also anyone who thinks we have sell a shed load of players in the summer fails to understand we’re being punished for previous accounting years so it would not make any difference.
  13. Spectacular hypocrisy on here from people who appear to lack much understanding of business. Football isn’t a business in the normal sense-it’s a plaything for the super rich and Top is extremely rich. To be ambitious in football you have to make a huge investment with no guarantee of an immediate return. It’s a long run plan and guess what, it needs to be judged over the long term ie not 2-3 seasons. People who say it’s total mismanagement are totally misunderstanding what is happening.
  14. No meltdown. Meltdown is when you run out of money and there’s no danger of that.
