  1. As a Durham fan I’m a big fan of young Pottsy but I’m not sold on him as a Test cricketer- yet. Tongue should be the next cab off the rank. 85-90 mph too which is a crucial point of difference.
  2. Hope you hammer the willy pullers.
  3. You’ll be top 2 along with Southampton. The quality of this division is shocking.
  4. I’ve just sort of assumed you’d be fine as on paper your team looks far too good to go down, despite what the Leicester fans at work have been telling me. That was an awful result yesterday though and for the first time I genuinely think you’re in real trouble. Especially if the news about Marsch is true.
  5. I’m a Durham fan and watched a fair bit of Lees at the start of the season. He looks a cut above in the Championship but it’s quite staggering how big the gap is between County Cricket and the Test arena. As much as I want Lees to succeed for England a tiny selfish part of me wants to see him play for and captain Durham next year as we’ve had a shocking 2022.
  6. Zak attack! Pleased for Crawley who has taken a lot of stick this summer even if it has been deserved. Once he gets himself in and set he is capable of playing some beautiful shots. Lees looks less capable and has avoided a lot of criticism this summer as most of the attention has been focused on his fellow opener. England will win the Test and the series tomorrow and whilst it’s been a brilliant summer of cricket there are still major question marks. Both openers don’t look like they’re up to playing at this level and we are still relying heavily on Broad and Anderson although Robinson looks world class and Matty Potts has shown that he could become world class. Stokes is annoying me too at the moment. Chucking his wicket away playing stupid shots.
  7. Ha’way Durham for tomorrow. I’d be going if me, the mrs and the bairn hadn’t been offered use of the in-laws lodge this week. I shall be keeping an eye on the score though. Suspect it will be another draw.
  8. Tried a pint of Coors at a pub called the Red Lion in Llanfair Caereinion (we’ve got a lodge in Wales for a week). Flat as a fart. 2/10. I’m not really a Coors fan but the only alternative lager on offer was Carling.
  9. It looks fantastic. I visited the King Power for the first time in June whilst attending a friend’s wedding and was very impressed.
  10. As an outsider, can’t see you being relegated even with Rodgers in charge. You’ll turn it around.
  11. I’ve felt this way for years and not just because of the downward spiral of my club. My dad used to tell me stories about how charismatic men like Brian Clough could take over a provincial club and guide them from obscurity to the very pinnacle of the game. The “Big six” have destroyed football as a competitive sport in this country. It’s an absolute travesty.
