True, but it may as well skip! In our case they’re charged with payment to Macquarie and that charge covers next year’s parachute payments. So it’s already allocated away to pay that existing debt. It gives us no new money. What will be the issue is what does for most companies - lack of cash flow. So a real concern will be where is the cash coming from to keep the show on the road? It’s not that parachute payments are useless, but I think we’ve already “spent” ours on servicing existing debts. So unless we’ve got millions that have not been drawn down on a loan facility, where’s the money for the meter?

It’s the size of the losses that are hurting us too. With 2 points covering the 4 teams fighting against the last two relegation spots there’s a good chance one if not both spots will be decided on GD. And ours is getting worse.

And that was supposed to be one of the tough run in games for WBA. And a decent chance for a win at home for us against a team that hadn’t scored for 7 hours. Our goal difference is getting a hammering with the scale of our losses too, and with 2 points covering 4 teams, the relegation places could come down to goal difference.

Instead of playing like the poor sod in that film whose arm was broken.

If that's right, I'd expect more French teams in the CL last 16 than 1, PSG. France's only finalist for a decade. Especially with the new league stage. You get more chances, less luck of the draw and one bad game being the difference as it can be in a small group stage. But only AS Monaco got through to the knock out playoffs. And were beaten by PSG. Don't mind being proved wrong, but I'd expect a lot more successful representation if the French League was truly a class above.

I don't think that's fair; both Man City and Arsenal have played more matches across all competitions than PSG and Real Madrid have, for example. That matters with the swift turnaround of games at this level. And the last 10 years of the Champions League have had 7 PL finalists. Spain is next with 4 (all Real), Italy 3 and Germany and France 2. That doesn't sound like a weak league and teams that fold under knock-out pressure to me. The PL has many flaws, but a league of bottlers it isn't.

Not according to Wordle Bot, who lost no time in making sure I didn't get too big for my boots by telling me that my opening word was "extraordinarily lucky today", which was true, as it left only two words.
