Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
trooky replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Why, they'll be challenging at the top of the Championship next season. It really doesn't make any difference who the manager is, the gulf between the bottom of PL / top of championship is huge. I would keep him and use the money we would waste in compensation on players. Its not about the manager it's about the strength of the first team. We will be a big fish in a small pond, like last time when a novice manager won us the championship. -

And what evidence do you have for this? -
Yeah, they've got Everton's last game at Goodison, Vardy's last game for us should have been on Sky instead of West Ham vs Forest
-
After 13 years, winning the league and FA Cup, if he wants his final game at home and finish on 500 games then he's earnt that.
-
I don't see it happening, Ruud apparently presented his plan to the board for next season. Part of the plan was preparing now to sign potential free transfers. If we intended to keep him, I believe even our incompetent board would have told him.
-
Who's reported we're facing a transfer embargo and points deduction?
-
Thanks, he's played alot of younger players they've signed from other clubs before Dyche became manager but not sure you would class any as Everton academy prospects. A quick search on chatgpt says Dyche gave limited first team opportunities to academy players between 2023-2025 at Everton and only Dwight McNeil at Burnley between 2012-2022. So in over a decade of management he's brought on McNeil and Branthwaite but he was signed from Carlisle at 18 and played10 times in the PL before Dyche.
-
Yes totally agree, I live not too far away in West Yorkshire. Burnley was one off the worst academies in the area at the time, far behind Blackburn and would have been one of the last choices for decent academy prospects. But what was Dyche record like at Everton for promoting youth, because they have one of the best academies in the region.
-
Totally agree with this regarding the talent pool available in the North West released from Manchester or Merseyside. It's how they git Dwight McNeil.
-
I don't have a strange stance on Dyche, I just don't think he's right for us, just like Eddie Howe wasn't the right fit for Burnley. His approached suited a small team like Burnley and they over achieved for sure but as soon as he left for a bigger club in Everton with a better squad than his team at Burnley he's struggled. The premier league has evolved considerably over the last 3 years, Dyche was never a visionary, but he's been left behind and struggled to adapt his philosophy or pragmatic style unlike Moyes or Howe. We need a new DOF before we appoint a new manager, the last thing we need is another rushed appointment of an unemployed manager by the same people that have got it so wrong over the last 4-years. I would rather keep Ruud at the club for another 6 months and appoint a proper DOF who can put in place the foundations we desperately need.
-
Our current manager is hardly a benchmark for judging his replacement.
-
Not really Dyche has 34% win rate in his managerial career. To say he won't jump ship like Enzo isn't realistic, any Leicester manager would leave for Chelsea, it's unlikely he would be on their shortlist though. The managerial appointment is the least of our worries we need to sort out DOF first, long term football strategy, recruitment etc... IMO
-
Because It shows how limited Dyche is. Everton are 10th in the PL table since Moyes took charge with the same squad of players. Under Dyche they were in the relegation places. Dyche may be good in the championship and achieves promotions, but will he accept a 1 year contract at Leicester because he can't manage in the PL and will be sacked in his first season back.
-
Why didn't we get him instead of RVN after sacking Cooper. We waste so much money on sacking managers, buying players we neve use, like Cannon, Woyo, Skipp, Souttar..... This club is a shambles with no direction, or consistency in appointments.

And Wilder is a very experienced and decent manager. It's incredibly insulting to even compare him with RVN. -
Ben Nelson - loan to Oxford United - Official

Now the EFL season is over, is he available for our remaining games this season? Would be good if he got some game time and started in our final games. -

Get rid of the shit like Faes and Coady, and start Nelson. We should not sell Nelson under any circumstance. Oh and we can add Vesty to that list -
I would take Phil Parkinson of Wrexham, 3 promotions in 3 years and also did a good job at Bradford getting a league 2 team to the league Cup final and promotion to league 1.

Sounds too sensible for us, I don't think it will happen. -

Sky reported we can't afford to sack him until July 1st because of PSR. -
He's not going to resign because he's got 2 years on his contract , and according to Sky we can't afford to sack him until after July 1st so we're stuck with him for a few more months.
-
Hopefully he gets 2 more PL goals to finish on 200
-
The you end up with shit like BDR and Ayew
