  1. We have absolutely shit players. Soumare Amartey Dewsbury Thomas Ward Never fit evans Over the hill vardy Barnes Ill cut some slack for vardy the rest are shite.
  2. Good question this. Zalatoris always seems to content in majors and has a game that travels well to the different major venues and set ups. If I was going to suggest a slightly more unfancied player, I think Adam Hadwin is a good shout. A really neat player, very solid tee to green, a sort of PGA Championship type game. Sungjae Im also falls into that solid tee to green category, and if he was to have a good putting week, a US Open/PGA type game. Not so much an Open or Masters, but a solid all round player.
  3. When im watching golf now, its a game that I once felt as a decent amateur, i could get fairly close to pros in SOME ways. Now I watch the golf and its just bonkers, particularly the clubhead speed and ball speed factors. Min Woo Lee was recording constant driver ball speeds in excess of 190MPH....its unreal. Average clubhead speed on tour with driver has gone up 3 miles per hour in the last 5 years alone. Guys like Matt Fitzpatrick, small guys, cranking out 175mph ball speed at will. Its actually the guys at the other end of the field, the guys who have to rely on SKILL rather than power to play the course that interest me. You could say Morikawa falls into that bracket. Hes a little shorter than PGA tour average. I do feel its leaving a group of great ballstrikers behind now. One of my favourite swings on tour is Lucas Glover, but he cant compete on a week to week basis, despite being a major champion. I think it makes performances by the likes of Chris Kirk (Honda winner), Tom Hoge (Sawgrass course record), Russell Henley (Mayakoba winner) etc all the more impressive IMO
  4. For added viewing pleasure, always watch Leicester first if you think there is some sort of anti Leicester conspiracy rather than just acknowledging we arent very good, and if your personality is very fragile, maybe dub your own punditry over the top of the highlights that constantly praises Leicester regardless of anything that happened during the game. Job done.
  5. Heres the perfect alternative for people who want to watch MOTD, yet dont want to watch anything that makes MOTD, MOTD: Put the youtube highlights on, on mute, at 10.30pm on saturday. Job done, no need for a thread.
  6. "Commies" have a day off
  7. The BBC's idea of "impartiality" is sticking someone like the head of the IMF, or EMA, CBI or WTO in the same studio as an anti vax Tufton Street 900 million immigrants are coming to live in your street right wing goon who thinks the world is ran by lizards, and because there is one of each in the studio they represent 50% of the population each and their views are as sound as each others.
  8. He compared the LANGUAGE being used now to the LANGUAGE being used in 1930s Germany. And then just to prove that this is nothing like 1930s Germany, he got sensored for his freedom of speech.
  9. Youll be hooked mate (pardon the pun). Its a sport you can play for a lifetime in some fantastic locations, and no matter your ability level, you can get something out of the game.
  10. Practically the whole media is there to support the tories now, and their whole existence is an enormous gaslighting project. THIRTEEN years in power, we are still hearing its the fault of labour and corbyn. And now we are getting close to an election and they are behind in the polls, they bring out their trump card: hatred of immigrants. The same issue they bring out every time they need to divide people and hope more people fall on their side of the divide. Its basically disgusting. Lineker had it right. Thats why he has been cancelled.
  11. Ive tried the Stealth out and to be honest, the Stealth + model Rory has been using is seriously low spin and unforgiving on mis hits. I know Rory doesnt exactly need the forgiveness, but even at pro level a lot of guys will play the forgiving, higher spin models.
  12. I gave up on the local football scene years ago. Too old to play anyway now, but it always seemed like people were more interested in a scrap and promoting the image of being a "lad" than actually playing football. Ive no idea what possesses anyone to want to take up refereeing either. Remember watching a team of Polish players v an english pub team and it was just racism with a ball essentially.
  13. I hardly ever use social media and I dont feel like ive missed out by not using it either.
  14. The managers dont need to have sustained success, its Chelsea the club that needs the success, not individuals, they are only custodians of the club. Their approach hasnt proved to be wrong.
  15. Youre not talking about Ashley Barnes and Demarai Gray here, youre talking about some of the best players and best young prospects in europe. Any manager worth their salt would love to inherit a loaded owner willing to invest almost limitless sums of money into the team and said players, the truth is Potter has failed. If anything the people above him arent inerfering enough, hes totally out of his depth, im surprised he has lasted this long.
  16. Being "woke" usually just boils down to being a tolerant decent human being, which many people absolutely hate, hence branding said people "woke"
  17. Think this depends on what youre watching it FOR. If youre interested in the design of the cars, the technology, the strategy on raceday and the skill of navigating the circuit (if youve got experience of doing single seat track days etc then you get a feel for it) then its interesting. If its just expecting constant wheel to wheel racing hoping the red one will overtake the blue one, then chances are yes youll be bored.
  18. I find it weird how Rugby is held up as being an honourable type sport by people who dont like football when the reality is that its a lot of meatheads decking each other. Not sure rugby can be held up as an example of anything
  19. Does anyone on the forum play X flex in any of their clubs? Theres a 2nd hand set im looking at, and im thinking how much different will going from a stiff flex to the X will be?
  20. And another thing for those people who talk about "context" The club had a constant upward trajectory under pearson because he was managing in the lower leagues against worse opposition. For us to have even BEEN in league 1 in the first place was an absolute joke.
  21. Whats genuinely weird is having two managers who have won the two biggest prizes in the domestic game, which will probably never be won ever again, and at best one of them is looked on as some sort of joke figure that just did everything the pearson way and won the league for pearson, and the other one is basically hated by 99% of the forum. I get in Rodgers' case things have gone sour and its not likely things are going to improve, but youd think there would be some sort of we won the league thread every other day here. Instead all you ever see is the same little band of people wanking themselves off over pearson. If theres a thread about Rodgers and someone suggests pearson as a replacement, i guarantee within 5 mins youll have dog profile picture and his merry men having their 378th pearson circle jerk of the week.
  22. Hed have got them relegated if he had carried on. He was useless there Hes achieved nothing at Bristol City. Theyre a crap side in the bottom half. I appreciate for people like yourself he cant fail. You can give the guy an infinite amount of time to continually finish somewhere in mid table, and he will never, ever be a failure due to his time at Leicester. But he is failing miserably.
  23. If he had, hed have done it bang averagely and been rude about it
  24. And in case im missing the "context" throughout his career: Carlisle - shit team that were at the bottom all season until a goalkeeper scored from a corner. total fluke Southampton - takes over a mid table team for 4 months, wins 3 games in his whole time there, one of which is the last day of the season to avoid relegation and gets hailed as a genius a John Carver genius maybe Leicester - Does a good job overall despite periods of rubbishness, lays the foundations for subsequent managers to come in and totally smash it who deserve more credit and dont get any Hull - Did an average job in first season, then ironically when they were actually playing not bad he walked out on them LOYAL. Didnt lay any foundations anyway. Derby - Manages to take over a playoff team and **** them within 2 months id say thats up there with the highlight of his CV, agent Pearson. Leuven - No one cares about the Belgian 2nd division Watford - Gets a bounce, loses bounce, falls out with players, would have been relegated anyway with remaining games, club bins him off after a few months yet again Bristol City - Bang average job and yet hailed as a genius for selling a few players and reaching the dizzying heights of 16th. One good job like i said.
  25. He keeps getting jobs because everyone thinks hes going to "do a Leicester" and then he doesnt. He has this myth and aura about him that hes got magical club building powers, when he built ONE team. He managed ONE club well. That part of his career died years ago and aint coming back. I doubt the guy will get another job after Bristol, hes finished, hes history. Ex recent players are taking the jobs now and doing better than him. That coupled with managers coming from European leagues with clear styles of play to implement. He might get a job at a club where the only goal is save a few quid and take as long as you need doing it because were broke kind of club, some league two nothing club, thatll be about it. Hes also an absolute embarrasment in interviews and no good clubs want that. I brought up Watford because they binned him immediately after a game, and considering he was doing the amazing job you like to tell everyone about, that would suggest he must have majorly pissed off people within their hierrarchy, whether that be players, the owners, probably both.
