Well run clubs will have taken that into account, but those that are desperate might not. Let's be honest we spent in the last time we was in this position and it didn't help. So club may be wary of doing the same. Or, Rudkin is just white.

Imagine having to pump money into a club that is mismanaged by you and your staff, and instead of making changes to your staff that have continously mismanaged the money you've invested you just pump more money into the club. You then wipe this out, and release a press statement to show how generous you are hoping it will clear the ill feeling around the club under your stewardship.
