Considering Rudkin was a youth coach and then academy director you'd say he does know and understand football. However, that doesn't mean hes good at his job, or the lengths he will go to appease his boss rather than do what the best thing is. Rumours that Top has to sign anything off so whilst im certainly not sticking up for Rudkin, its possible his own hands are tied to a certain extent and is more interested in self preservation.
