In theory we do, but in practice we treat our politicians like shit, and expect them to pander to our every whim and criticize them when they don't. So we get facile idiots in the main.

Do you ever forget the names of Leicester players?
Jon the Hat replied to Elsie Effcee's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeah thingo. You know. -
This is the problem though, if you take hospitality you cannot avoid the impression of being influenced. So don't take it if you are a politician in government.

Yeah especially as the Nazi's were on the LEFT! * *sorry couldn't help it. Just ignore me

If you think we usually bootlick. Either way the interests and security of the UK are best served by not pissing off the leader of our strongest allies.

Not a chance in hell, and it would be massively unprofessional. We show respect to the office, even if the office holder is a massive ****.
-
I was thinking the opposite to be honest. Some loudmouth bloke from the pub would achieve the square root of **** all in this environment. You need people who can put across an argument, make their point well and listen to fans. What you don't need is every type of fan visibly on the board. You also need people willing to put their hand up - and 100 is sod all of the fan base lets be honest.

An ex CPS guy on the Newsagents yesterday was saying if at the moment he pulled the trigger, knowing as a fully trained armed police officer that the bullet he was about to fire would kill the suspect, he was not genuinely in fear of his life or the life of others, then it is murder. Pretty high bar to prove. The Jury appear to have decided that a guy trying to ram his way out of a police stop with a 2.5 tonne Audi is not really unarmed and posed a genuine risk to the lives of the officers. Makes sense to me. The Jury were also aware of what the officers knew at the time - that the car was connected to two recent shootings and the weapon was still at large. They did not know he was a known gun man for this dangerous gang as the officers didn't know that when they carried out the stop. I'm sure the jury feel more confident of their decision after the fact, as do the officers.

That isn't really true though is it? The phrase is misunderstood, I think. If you were the only person able to commit a crime, and a crime certainly occurred then circumstantial evidence is damning.

Secret Service rules isn't it. Obviously a publicity stunt with vetted people or even staffers in in the drive through.

You can believe humans are top of the tree while understanding we are reliant on our ecosystem and need to look after it. Insects are going nowhere.

America's Cup sailing final - GB vs NZ
Jon the Hat replied to Izzy's topic in General Football and Sport
Sadly it was not to be. I do note though that is took the Kiwis a few finals to win it, and we are progressing each time from knocked out in the qualifying series, to making the LV Cup final to winning it and taking 2 races off the defenders. If we can keep that up we are in with a good chance next time! We are the challengers of record again having put in our challenge the moment the Kiwis crossed the line. Sir Jim has said he continues to back it, although as he wont be launching a new car next time he would like some other sponsors. It will be interesting to see whether Sir Ben takes a step back from skipper - personally I think he has another run in him. He is only my age after all! -
Drop a few leaflets offering them asylum and see how many defect!

Excellent news. The arsehole who started all this death and destruction.

I have no idea how anyone deals with that level of fame from 16 years old. Amazing any of them are alive and sane.

Americans are terrified of socialism or even the hint of it.

He does have that in his favour.

They have literally won nothing. Looks like the FA are ditching the internal development route as it has objectively not returned trophies.

This is going to be a disaster. Tuchel is pretty crap as top managers go.
-
Possibly, although if you strip out the superrich tech bros etc, the US probably has more of a problem with lack of welfare provision to be honest.

Awful beyond words. Somehow knowing the street where she lived pretty well makes it worse.

You would have to find a low tax economy to study I guess. The UK certainly isn't one.

See, you don't actually care that it isn't going to make any money do you? You want it becuase you like the idea of kids being forced out of the private system and into the state system, even though that means less cash to go around. You are right - they could just be idiots who cannot add up or dismissed the idea that lots of middle class people cannot suck up a 20% increase. I hadn't thought of that despite all the evidence so far provided in the 104 days or wherever we are.

Exactly, lovely place Poole. Pop on the Ferry over to Studland Bay! Admittedly it was unfortunate to have to do a runner from the taxi due to the 700 quid fare but still.

I have grabbed a taxi and said "Waterloo please mate" countless times, and never has the taxi driver asked for clarification.
