It's really hard to compare players like Rooney and Owen who were playing at the highest level at 16/17 with Vardy and to an extent Kane who were in their 20s before they earned their shot at the top. No one it seems cam play at that level for more than 10-12 years, whether they start young or finish old. What we can say is bloody hell there is some quality there, and it's unbelievable to have Vardy with 10 years at Leicester in the conversation. Shearer is the only comparable player in that he did brilliantly without ever signing for one of the biggest clubs.
