  1. I think they have learnt from last year that in order to stay in the EPL from here you have to go up with a base of EPL players in the Champs. But such complete changes are very disruptive to team work and coheasion on the pitch. Time will be of the essence. Already lagging behind.
  2. All that lot gone in just 16 months.. They brought one one bloke onto the pitch on Saturday and nobody could say who he was. Thass a rum do.
  3. Ipswich supporter here. Last Saturday we looked like a good set of individuals but, understandably not a team. Derby came for a point and spent a great deal of time rolling around is supposed agony to waste time. The goal coming after 105 minutes came as no suprise to anybody. This will be the test for McKenna. He has to show that what happened in previous seasons was not a one off. We have far to many players who dont evern know their team mates names. While we have certainly spent, we have also raised £75m ish from Delap, Hutchinson and Broaders. But as has been said on here it's early days yet.
  4. Indeed but one of the 5 has an ACL injury and is out for the season.
  5. I dont know what KMcK saw in him either. But time will tell. With Burns still recovering from his ACL did he just want somebody as back up ?
  6. O'Shea, Szmodics, Ogbene, Taylor and noe McAteer. I hope they all come back ok.
  7. McKenna breathed on Delap and Hutchinson and doubled their value. I wonder if he can do the same for Kasey ?
  8. McAteer being reported on TWTD as of interest to Ipswich.
  9. 40 year old Ashley Young has already played in all of Ipswich's games so far this season. Is it just a number ?
  10. I'm an Ipswich supporter. Can somebody settle a discussion in the pub. What has happened to Vardy ? Has he signed for anybody ? There have been reports of Wrexham, but not I have not heard anything definate.
  11. Was it me or was that a very narrow pitch ? Difficult for wingers to get going due to lack of space.
  12. Always play until the man in black blows.
  13. Me too. But perhaps for variety the other way around.
  14. For those that dont know I'm an Ipswich supporter. Town have had to let go Delap for £30m and may lose Hutch for £40m+ which gives them a bit of lee way for signings. However the popular Morsy and 4 others have left and we have not had a lot in. Broadhead may go too. Over priced by Wrexham. But that stil leaves a better team than we came up with last time. I'm looking forward to the season. COYB.
  15. First game of the season. On Friday night. Birmingham v Ipswich. Welcome to the Champs Blue Nose.
  16. Wrexham do seen to have money to burn. Look at what they must be paying Kieffer Moore. £2m to buy him too. Plus the £7.5m for Ipswich 5th choice Broadhead in the last year of his contract. All with a three sided ground that only holds abt 8000. It will all end in tears when R&R leave after the TV companies pull the plug on their series. Still if I was a Wrexham supporter I would be riding the wave now. It may not come again.
  17. Me too. See No1 daughter. Have a pie, a pint and catchup. Off to the match together. Drink afterwards. Train home. A fine day win or lose.
  18. That must be the first and last things won by a committee. Clubs need a single direction, not, shall we do this or that? The Joe Bloggs effect, as you describe it, does happen. Anybody is going to favour those that fit their ideas. But all the great teams have been lead by a single mind. Shankly, Fergerson, Robson, Wenger. Find your Ramsey, your Mourinho, your Busby and follow them.
  19. We have all been there. If not as bad as you have it at the moment. But things do move on. Clubs, if they are big enough, do survive. Good luck to you. I hope you get something better than you wish for.
  20. Still 5 weeks to go in the window. Plenty of time yet.
  21. We are of course. Fans pay for everything.
  22. But surely all the best teams come from a single top person. One vision. Think of all the great managers there have been. How many of them were lead by a committee ?
  23. I seem to remember Norwich have a minimum of about £500
  24. What about the cheapest ?
  25. And dont forget the HOPE factor. When the Foxes took the EPL championship it gave hope to all the other teams that perhaps they too could defeat the big clubs stranglehold of silverware. More recently Wrexham and Ipswich have done the same by achieving what had been considered impossible. Hope is what puts bums on seats and shoes on terraces at all clubs all over the country. It is the grease that keeps football wheels turning.
