  1. I hope you do get there. Go by train the parking is a b....r. The away pub is opposite the station and the ground is 5 minutes away.
  2. If you cant have a statue for Vardy then who the h.ll are you ever going to have one for ?
  3. Well done Mr V. And fare well.
  4. Did it though ? All those years watching something and I did n't know ! Ha, ha. I thought that was when it ended.
  5. That will be me then. I was an 9 year old there when we beat the Villa 2-0 to be the Champions, 1-0 against Arsenal to take the FA Cup in '78 in scenes similar to today's and there when we won the UEFA Cup in '81. Remind me when the Foxes won in Europe ? Ha, ha. But that is not important tomorrow. The match is not important tomorrow. We all know that except the accountants. I will be happy to clap for a Vardy goal as long as Chappers has scored two first ! I'll clap him at the start and the end. That is what tomorrow is about. See you there. COYB
  6. From a Tractor Boy looking forward to tomorrow. Give it large for Vardy at tge match. You wont see his like again. He will get a good reception from the away end. We recognise class when we see it.
  7. I'm hoping Wayne gets the nod. He has done such a good job at Derby, Brum and Plymouth. Perfect for the Budgies.
  8. Bugg.r It's not is it ? Ta. FFS Anybody want a ticket for the match ? Ha, ha. My mistake. Sunday at 3pm. Who would have thought it? I'll be there. Perhaps a bit early.
  9. Tractor boy here. KMcK is secure at Portman Road for the next season unless he wants to go. But why would he ? Town are a half finished prodject. Yes, we will lose a few players but most supporters are looking forward to next season. The players are with him, the Board have his back, the season tickets are selling well. (I have mine @ £31/month). Bring on the Foxes, bring on the Budgies. Feeling good. Remember, 2 years ago we were in Div 1. Looking forward to Saturday. Hope to see the legend that is Vardy on his last legs. He deserves a good send off. But not too good a send off if you know what I mean. COYB
  10. My comiserations from an Ipswich supporter. You seem to have more than enough problems off the pitch let alone on it. See you next season.
  11. I met two Arsenal supporters last year. They admitted they spent a fortune going to random matches. After a long discussion I persuaded them to go see their local team instead. Seeing them a few months later they said how much they enjoyed watching football 6 divisions lower. No booking to go to the game, cheaper, less time consuming and stand where you like. They particularly liked that if they wanted to question the ref's parentage that he could actually hear it. They liked being able to wander in and out of the club house and drinking with the team and manager afterwards. There is more to football than just the EPL or Champs.
  12. But the ref gave us a penalty against Everton a few weeks back that VAR overturned ?
  13. Contrary to what you will read on this forum last season Town actually conceeded more goals after 90 minutes than they scored. Talk to Cardiff who scored in the 94th and 97th minutes to win 2-1 and give the Championship to the Foxes. Football can be that close. That is why we love it so much. Yesterday we had two eveny matched teams both struggling to flow. The ref was equally appalling to both teams. Leif's goal was a cracker. He said afterwards that he had been practising that move and shot with his manager. How many other managers would spend time on such a move with a full back ? Class act our Kieran. Then we get a foul from a body check on the edge of the box. There follows, as they say north of the border here, a scrimmidge. This resulted in another body check that for some reason only known to the ref was not given. That is a puzzle. I mean he had a clear view. The ball then comes out, two players go for it, both with outstreched legs and as usual it's the one that falls most convincingly that gets the foul. So, the chances were, that either the home team is 1-0 up with a penalty or 1-0 up but down to 10 men. The ref changed the course of the game. During this season I have been monitoring the noise coming from the away end at Portman Road. So far the scores have been (out of 10) Liverpool 2 Fulham 5 Villa 3 Everton 6 Foxes. I have to say that I could hardly hear you at all except after you scored and I cant count that against the other 93 minutes of relative quiet. But you were not as bad as the no doubt corporates in the Liverpool and Villa seats. I will score you a 4. I just wonder if the shouting for your team is in direct proportion to how much your team is expected to win. More expectation, less noise ? Finally I hope you enjoyed you stay in sleepy Suffolk. Judging by the numbers in the Station Hotel afterwards you did. When I walked past at about 6pm (after taking in some refreshment elsewhere myself) it was still in full swing which is unusual. And a final finally. This time last year we would both have been pleasd to know that this fixture was taking place. COYB
  14. But dont forget to keep going to the end and wait for the 99th minute, five deflection goal.
  15. So kind.
  16. There are to be two different minutes of applause today Tom Tomline a disabled Town fan who died aged 54 (54th minute). Trevour Whymark, England international, died aged 74 (74th minute) played in the great Bobby Robson teams of the 70's and scored 106 goals for Town
  17. So do I.
  18. Oh, and if you are going to the match, dont forget to let us know you are there. Liverpool and Villa supporters were as silent as a tomb.
  19. I'm a Tractor Boy. I dont see a lot of arragance on here at all. I see a lot of supporters concerned for their team which is as it should be. Looking forward to the game tomorrow. Somebody on here asked about pubs. The designated away team pub is the Station which unsurprisingly is opposite the Station. Funny that. Nice enough place. But in truth Ipswich has some excellent pubs none of which are going to give away supporters any grief. (Unless you are wearing green and yellow of course). Personally I will be in the Steamboat, 15 mins from the ground. Have a good day. But not too good if you know what I mean. COYB
  20. I have been looking at other fans comments. City have cheated but got away with it seems unsurprisingly to be the main thought. But also heavy critism of the EPL for messing it up. The only support that I found was on the pinkun Norwich forum. They are happy because now there is a better chance of City finishing above Ipswich.. Football is a tribal community.
  21. Its not how you start its how you finish.
  22. I would like to wish the Foxes well for the season. I hope both them and the Tractor Boys prosper this year.
  23. Norwich supporters tried that. But with the majority of the ground season tickets it made little difference. Especially when it comes down to attendance figures because as a season ticket holder you are counted as ever present even when you are not. No, it is all down to supply and demand. They can so they will. Ipswich have had recent times where we only had 12k there. The management is determined to have a full ground of support and so we have lower prices.
  24. Ipswich supporter here. I am sorry to see such prices anywhere. For comparison Town released their season ticket prices a few months ago before we went up . They are here. I'm in Block B which is sort of outer middle upper. £338 (OAP) https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/46928/town-announce-season-ticket-prices
