  1. You go to university to learn how to think, analyse information, learn new ways of communicating, basically a whole range of skills that are sought after by employers. The subject isn't that important aside from technical subjects. If you want to go on to work in a specific field you get a masters. As somebody that recruits graduates for my team, I think this is often misunderstood by people that didn't go to uni. The subject isn't important in most cases, what they've learnt skill wise is. Those crusading against university seem to do so from a position of not understanding what it's for imo.
  2. Not much has changed
  3. Oh absolutely but in a way that's the point I'm making. If you're going to be the green party, then make our response to climate change your one single stand out policy, and ditch all the divisive left wing policies that might cause people to disagree with you. Think they'd get more votes that way.
  4. I'd rather the greens were more centrist so they garnered greater support. Think they miss out on many votes because of their left wing sensibilities (and I say that as a left wing voter myself). The green issue is too big a deal to attach it to politics that don't appeal as wisely as possible. That said, they'd only damage the chances of Farage's defeat, as you say. Unfortunately on the left we all like perfection so split ourselves into small factions that can't win a FPTP election.
  5. If he was contracted to stay overnight the wouldn't be an issue. Clearly he isn't. Maybe you should lose the jealousy when thinking about his situation.
  6. Good luck mate
  7. TBF Rudkin and co have done a decent job shipping players out this summer
  8. Firstly neither the Tories nor reform are going to be socialising oil and gas exploration any time soon. Second GCH is the past not future. You need to move on and let us leave fossil energy behind, which we have no choice but to do. Heat pumps exist.
  9. All of our oil and gas are sold on the international markets. We don't keep it. We sell licences to international oil companies.
  10. Can't blame him. From where he's come from he's ended up a millionaire living in a mansion in Italy. That's the dream right there.
  11. No but he's dropped behind a number of youth prospects and is leaving to get game time as he won't get it here.
  12. Why have the Tories decided being anti-science is a good thing? Really ridiculous. Everybody is so busy playing Farage at his own game that all sense has been lost. In what way will allowing runaway climate change conserve anything? BBC News - Tories pledge to get all oil and gas out of North Sea https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp890n51684o
  13. Clearly not going to be the player we'd hoped given no city manager so far has fancied him. Has dropped behind Page and Silko Thomas in midfield, and was already behind McAteer on the wing. Unless we genuinely believe he's suddenly going to break through we'd be better off selling.
  14. Austerity isn't a centrist policy. It was not remotely based on general economic thought. It was an attempt to shrink the state through cuts. The lib dems wouldn't have been voting for that on their own.
  15. It's right wing economics through austerity that has wrecked the country, not centrism.
  16. TBF Leif Davis is a great little player. Genuinely can't believe a decent premier League team hasn't gone in for him.
  17. Love all the links to players I've never heard of in languages I can't read. This is what the transfer window is all about.
  18. People on this thread need to have a look in the mirror and act their ages. Never seen such a display of handbag whirling in all my days. The lad is very young and has been thrown in the deep end. That is true. He looked miles out of his depth last night. That is also (imo) true. Both can be true and, in fact, it's very likely to be the case as one leads to the other. Pointing out one doesn't detract from the other. Our fans....jeez
  19. Vance used to be a Trump critic, who knows what his beliefs would be now if trump wasn't there. That said, firstly I highly doubt what people are speculating, second republicans don't have much choice but to double down on MAGA politics given how far they've gone in selling their souls to it.
  20. Sorry but this is claptrap. We need options across the front line and he'd be a good one.
  21. Desperately needed winks to come on and take control of the game. Just what is going on there? Hopefully will be resolved after transfer window closes as we can't be giving up possession so easily all season. Vesty and Ayew were the two standouts for me.
  22. Our centre backs were our best players tonight. Vesty was great TBF. Okoli did okay but they look a formidable pairing at this level.
  23. Still better than Daka. I don't want Bamford, just making the point of that's what happens it's still an improvement.
