The problem is that Daka is so easily bullied. He falls over in a slight breeze. Carranza looks like he looks the foul too and may not realise the physicality that the wrexham defenders can get away with against him. we don't have that big dominant striker who can head a ball, that we've needed for years. Ayew may actually be the best choice here because he can sell a foul whereas the others can't. However we are terrible at set pieces, so not sure it matters.

I advocate for this too. Yes Vesty is playing well (at his level) but these players are holding back the club's progression.

He turned us down three times We'll see how it pans out. Much better than the last couple of years but when the injuries kick in the depth will expose them. Hope he gets what he deserves. It's a NOW league, fans and owners want European football, every season. I've seen people saying here that this season proves the league is not a closed shop and that the gap between prem and championship isn't growing. I disagree. The three teams at the bottom were in Europe recently. They spent to try and maintain that position and now are paying for it. They can't do what Chelsea do every year, financially. Maybe the promoted teams will benefit this year but more likely their lack of depth will see them hit the skids and tumble back down the table as the season progresses.

I think Faes is the best CB we have, but he doesn't have a future with us and he can bring us money in January. Okoli has years left on his contract, he can head a ball and he's got speed and aggression. He isn't good but he is a championship defender. Fans have been fooled into believing that a CB's priority is to run and pass the ball. It isn't, even Okoli can pass three yards to Nelson or Winks or JJ.

I agree. Can't believe it wasn't put up years ago. It certainly should've been put up before his final match at the ground. It didn't take long for the memorial to get sorted but it seems TOP's mind is elsewhere.

We may as well try out the U21 strikers as play Daka. He has proven he does nothing other than run around a lot. Surely we have a younger player who can do that, and who knows maybe they can do something more.

I'll settle for a win, it doesn't need to be convincing.
-
I think you are overrating Daka. What has he done since his initial exploit in Europe? Other than run around and miss shots.
-
Agreed. Both should be sold. Daka should've been gone for whatever the offer was in the summer. He's no better than any U21 striker would be.

Think people are OTT in judging Carranza already. He's just moved country, leagues and systems. It'll take gametime and learning to get up to the level he can operate at. Whatever that is. I don't agree with all of Marti's substitutions but I do like that he uses some early and that he uses them all - that was one of Bren's problems (same for older managers in general). Hate that he is using BDCR but as people say, he's forced into it to an extent because the club didn't get rid of enough of the old boys. Vesty, Faes, Soumaré, Winks, BDCR, Ayew, Daka should have been sold as cheaply as necessary so that they COULDN'T be chosen. It's almost impossible to leave veteran heads out on the money they are being paid. VK is a mistake too, proven to be hopeless and needs moving on. West Brom , Cov etc... are teams that will be in and around the playoff positions at the end of the year. That tells me that even our limited players are around the playoffs (dependant on whether we have a points deduction). I believe we will see team improvement as they get used to each other and Cifuentes system. We'll be in the top 10 at the end of 2025 and then our January window moves will decide whether we can challenge for autos, playoffs or take another year in the championship to regroup. Certainly don't want us to change manager again this season. We need stability there. He needs another coach or two to help out, though.

They had nearly as many shots and far more on target. We dominated the ball when we passed at the back, until they pressured us, when we gave it away. We were the better team in the first half but they were better than us in the second.

TBF Mavadidi was our best player today. If Monga is starting, we need to drop ayew and bouba and play monga in the 10.
-
We may have scored in the last 15 but it was the worst part of the match for us by some distance

Well we had 12 of them tonight, but boy can we pass the ball around well in our own third when there's no pressure on us. -

Why? Because he had a shot not on target when he was wide open? -
When the answer is reid, Vik and Daka, the question is who can take you down?

tired of seeing shots from outside the box with people in the box

and bouba

managers and their blindness over certain players.

He wasn't great but he'd never have thought all of the defenders would make the mistakes they did.

Their time will never come if they aren't played. They are exactly the players who should be coming on for the last 20 minutes gaining the experience and showing tired legs something difeerent
-
not sure why Mavadidi has been getting shit. He's played well and could easily have had 2 assists.
