I mean ideally we had players in already. The longer we leave it, the worse it is for our season. But it was clear we need to sell before we can buy... And we haven't sold an asset yet. That's the reasoning of why I am not worried about incomings yet.

Nah not heard that. I think Chaplin is still coming. We are waiting for the Monga sale + Chaplins Portugal training camp to conclude. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't end up here.

Likely won't go through until he's 17 right? which is July 10th. So yes, July 11th makes sense. If we don't see a fair few through the door after the 11th, I'll start to worry.

He's got a promotion on his CV from the championship. He also has technically never been relegated either. He's a decent coup for League 1 and Top admires him clearly. It is what it is, but I doubt someone like RM would drop to league 1 unless he got paid good money and got insurances on having a budget for transfers + not being fired if it doesn't start well.

We need to remember that the Monga sale is 10m up front. Which means you could in theory purchase 2/3 players for 10m each on 3 year contracts (only 3.33m per season for each player). Obviously I don't think we do that. But the club have been rumoured to want Championship players that will drop down for a season. So it makes sense that we need more money and are therefore waiting for Mongas deal to come through before we finalise these incomings.

Great deal for Monga. We get that 10m up front as well, which is huge for any incoming players. We were never going to keep him. This was half the reason we built seagrave... you can't keep all your youth stars. You need to keep some (Page, Aluko, Evans) and sell others like Monga, Cartwright etc. In our current situation this is an incredible deal and we should take it and run for a player that isn't proven to be good enough at Champ/L1 level yet
