  1. In a VAR world the pen is given against Mavididi, got a bit lucky there
  2. Which was Rodgers' downfall. He openly said you didn't need plan b if you did plan A right. Somewhere in September/October we lost our intensity, our cutting edge. We aren't putting teams away. Dominating possession isn't dominating the game. Three or four of them are getting complacent and it needs sorting.
  3. Not sure many predicted that line up but the squad depth is so good I'm not even worried by the changes
  4. Ricky was excellent today, Ndidi pressing high up the pitch helped and Faes was more an attacking threat than Nacho.
  5. It's not about being on the edge of your seat, it's about winning. The brief this season is promotion, that's it. It's not going to be thrill-a-minute when the likes of Watford, Preston, Cardiff and the rest park the bus and barely get out their own half.
  6. I don't want Nacho anywhere near that starting XI right now. His touch is fvcking appalling, he's playing 30 yards too deep and giving no help for the wingers at all, he looks like a guy who has an offer on the table from a top flight club and we had enough problems with those clowns last season. Start Vardy, bring on Cannon for 30 mins at the end. Or vice versa.
  7. It's more the players than the style. 3 of our 4 mids are defensive or ball winning players not especially creative. Nacho seems determined to play as an 8 not a 9 (hence he got hooked after 50 mins) Getting Fatawu, Vardy, Yunus etc on whose first idea is to go forward helps massively. We've won 14 out of 17 games. Sometimes the play is slow, sometimes it's frustrating but we've had this most of the season. Teams parking the bus and us finding a way through. I know one thing, I prefer this to conceding each week from set pieces, disillusioned players and losing week in week out.
  8. Great ref, best of the season. Unlike some of them, booked players in the first half for yellows and didn't just start whipping the card out after half time.
  9. Never been in favour of points deductions for administration because it punishes players and fans for an owner's negligence but where it results from unfair expenditure - including transfers - it's perfectly fair because an advantage has been gained from breaking the rules. Annoying to see the likes of the Mayor of Liverpool, local MPs and that gobsh!te Derek Hatton having their say and claiming it's "only £20m" but that sort of bleating is part of being from that city.
  10. Years back now but I was at a group interview (various roles from catering to shop & matchday staff) at the club where the first question was "are you a fan of the club?" Those putting their hands up were told specifically that being a supporter would "interfere" with them being able to do their job effectively.
  11. https://www.the42.ie/roy-keane-cruciate-ligament-alf-inge-haaland-3563028-Aug2017/ Their viewing figures go up every time he's on. IIRC he got a kicking on the back pages after the initial 'tackle' and even more when he brought the book out. But people love an outspoken character and it didn't stop O'Neill employing him too.
  12. And again. This won't be anything like the side in the Premier League.
  13. He needs to get this lot together over the break and regroup them. We've stopped doing the basic stuff and we're not nearly clinical enough right now. We need one or two back and start getting our shit together again. The likes of Nacho, Choudhury and Justin need to step up and stop acting like reserves.
  14. I can smell Nacho's performance all the way back in Leicester. He's never in between, great or absolutely honking.
  15. Said it for 2 or 3 games now, we miss Ndidi. He had 3 goals & 3 assists in 6 games before his injury, he presses high and doesn't fanny about on the ball. We've lost 2 or 3 players and suddenly players like Ricardo are having to drop into unfamiliar positions and it all looks a bit disjointed
  16. according to the match threads....1974
  17. We're trying to be too fancy round the edge of the box with it looking for clever dinks and the perfect through ball. Need someone running in behind and taking a shot first time. Its all too.....intricate?
  18. "33 gone. Minutes, that is" What else would it be
  19. and mixing up Ricardo with Iheanacho
  20. Mine's in the loft, could never let it go. I had so many bootlegged games for that thing I think I only ever bought 2 or 3 legit ones.
  21. early to mid Feb but he is already back in the gym doing strength work etc
  22. IIRC the British Legion hit the roof about the theme tune
  23. Little. Still gets ridiculous abuse from some fans for how it ended, conveniently forgetting he turned a nearly-relegated utterly hopeless side into promotion contenders in the space of a pre-season and making 91-92 (in that Bukta kit) one of our greatest second tier seasons. Had Wright, Russell and Kitson replaced with Ormondroyd, Gee and Davidson and still got us to another two play-off finals. The era of bucket hats and tickertape, Wembley trips and the ZDS cup. Great days.
  24. People talk about the modern fan not being cared about but Bournemouth must have properly hated the fixture "computer" for those 3 seasons.
