I think with a new face as manager those players who Rodgers threw under the bus would revive their performances again. Bar Maddison and Soyuncu (although he did briefly end up at Atletico) have all gone on to bigger and better things. Barnes scored against Barcelona the other week, but he wasn’t good enough to beat a league below us Forest? I don’t buy the Kasper argument either. Never mind on the pitch, where he was vastly better than Iversen or Ward, he’d have NEVER let standards slip the way they did. In any case, all of those players at the club the day of that Forest game were either A) Signed with Rodgers’ agreement B) Finished Top 5 in the PL and got us into our much talked up about European Semi Final -

Agree RE Tielemans, but you’re assuming also that other clubs wanted to buy those players on those wages Either way, it’s easier and cheaper to replace one face/known quantity than 4/5 others -
Purposely done this before Man City’s tough game before Chelsea tomorrow Although I’ve voted Man City each time, I now (weirdly) think they’ll run out of games. I don’t trust them to go unbeaten

It was. But we hadn’t done that in the summer of 2021- a form of backing Rodgers And in any case, are you suggesting we only sold 1, rather than the 5/6 he called out? -
Yep Been thinking about getting my LCFC tattoo lasered off

Don’t forget that Ward was put in goal by Rodgers. You get rid of Rodgers who (parking aside my hatred of him had definitely lost his ability to manager the club at that point ((it was my view he needed sacking after Warsaw- 6 months before the Forest loss)) for £15m. Or you try and sell those said players- who in fairness to your view had dropped off in performances, and risk replacing them for unknowns- at a far bigger financial risk The players didn’t need refreshing, they needed a fresh manager.
