Seems to be suggesting he, and by extension probably Mavididi (+ any other conspicuous absentees), doesn’t give it everything in training? So work rate is his primary barometer for judging players?

Both goals have come against the run of play and have been our only real chances. Not something you can see has been created out of our style of play or a clear tactical advantage, just individual quality, bad defending and Johnny on the spot type stuff. Like I say hopefully we start to see an identity form, but today was worryingly passive. To give him some credit there has been an improvement on set pieces so far and our heads haven't dropped quite as easily as they would have under Rodgers.

Very confusing lack of tactics and refusal to start our best players (Mavididi & Pereira in particular). Two goals & 1 point out of nothing so far. Hope we start to see some sort of identity creeping in, but being so far behind such a basic team today was sickening... 🙏

That's the only thing I can think of. He definitely doesn't work as hard defensively as Fatawu and at times it was noticeable that he didn't offer a lot going backwards. 🤷‍♂️

Clearly Cooper is trying to make what he thinks is an intelligent point about Mavididi not tracking back and working as hard defensively as we need in this league, but it could cost us a winnable game today if he persists.

He might come good as a squad player at some point, but right now BD Reid needs to take a step back and f*** himself. Mavididi please.
