  1. fair play to Levy, really..
  2. So why would. We tie Ndidi down to a new contract who was already on good money and then splurge on this guy? Makes no sense to me. my only conclusion is that we are not short of money, just having a hard job of convincing people to sign.
  3. it’s mesmerizing that we would ‘ weigh up the options ‘ of spending a similar amount on someone with a more attacking profile yet pay this on someone who hasn’t..
  4. And it’s ME who’s missing the point?
  5. but that has nothing to do with British pensioners getting a discount and the reason why. Going off on a bit of a tangent there, chap… save it for another thread..
  6. hopefully that includes wages, signing on fee, Netflix subscription, ect…
  7. well the ones that ARE in a more financially secure position have worked hard all their lives to be so.. so look at it as more of a ‘thank you’
  8. yeah it just goes to show that effort will only take you so far. .. bit of class with Liverpool’s finishing too
  9. to be fair, Everton have given me a glimmer of hope as well… Also, not sure if you your the Liverpool Ipswich game, but second half was total control for Liverpool and they perhaps should have had more… Ipswich heads seemed to go down a bit which was very encouraging . Im not sure McKenna has enough magic left in his wardrobe for this season..
  10. definitely does.
  11. what I AM saying is that this area just isn’t the priority. An AM is..
  12. well, he spent the season before signing for us on loan in Serie A and was decent for sampdoria but wanted a permanent move not more loans.. but we are not talking about England level any more… we are are not even talking about a top 6 team player.. just someone who’s going to keep us up and we could definitely do much worse and with limited finances, it’s just ludicrous to suggest replacing him over strengthening other positions.. besides, he fell out with Mourinho who bought several very expensive CMS and that’s what limited his playing time- it was not that long ago that Athletico Madrid were sniffing round him.. as well as playing in. Decent sampdoria side in serie A.
  13. that might be part to the fact his role hasn’t been an out and out DM for a bit… we’ve had him running everywhere.. sit him in from of the defense to mop up, let Wings be the deep lying play maker and surely that’s a better solution than buying another DM? Especially considering our lack of finances… we need some creativity in the middle for more than we need another DM..
  14. We were talking about a DM though weren’t we? That roll you are talking about is slightly different…we might not be playing that all out combative roll… with the lack of creativity we have in the middle , it’s possible he might get pushed forward a little as he can at least pass a bit and pull the strings from not quite so deep… the glaringly obvious fix of course would be to buy an AM who’s a nailed on starter.. but for some reason , baring in mind our lack of finances people think the solution is to buy another DM
  15. didnt he play that role for England? But not good enough for Leicester? Right o
  16. umm… I wouldn’t say Alves is ‘ experience’
  17. Daft lad! everywhere needs strengthening. But we HAVE DMs, even if people don’t think they are good enough.
  18. you have to be joking? DM is not a priority because we at least have players in that position. It would make no financial sense to go after another DM and leave such a gaping hole in the AM area…. Winks, Hamza and Ndidi can all play in the DM role.. all 3 at least have prem experience… but what prem experience do we have in the AM role?
  19. I get what you are saying. I really do…. But I’ve said it before… are we being realistic? Just because we are interested in these players doesn’t mean we have a chance of them joining us…. So are we just wasting everyone’s time including ,using our own and subsequently our chances of forming a team able to compete? Our target this season isn’t mid table mediocrity, it’s to stay up partly because of our limited finances. So maybe we need to get 3-4 players in who might be lower in skill than the targets we have been looking at, but they will be of sufficient standard( hopefully) for us to have a fighting chance.. meanwhile all those players we need could be getting snapped up by other clubs whilst we waste our time chasing unrealistic target thus reducing our chances even further of being able to assemble a team that can complete over a full season..
  20. that would give me immense joy…. Although I’d guess that Plymouth are odds on for relegation atm
  21. showing an interest in these players doesn’t mean we stand a chance of getting them… it’s a bit like me sending a love letter to Taylor swift ( I haven’t btw).
  22. Everton look to have lived off of their reputation a season too long now… Gives me genuine hope we might have competition for 20th..
  23. why not? a lot of those 65+ who go to game have supported the club for years and could be one of the reasons we still have a club..
