The problem with this is that people DO use any and all kind of excuses. Some of them make you think they are more stupid that hellbent on endangering others lives. Hamza doesn’t give me the impression he’s got a willful disdain for human life so I at least want to find out a bit more before going off on him What you say about wether you lose someone or not is all a bit of conjecture And what ifs that hasn’t got anything to do with the point I’m trying to make. I used to work in the pediatric intensive care unit at the Royal for several years and I can promise you I’ve seen the some awful results of drunk driving, so I’m not trying to excuse it in any way..

This is the part I disagree. there’s a much higher risk of a catastrophic event when so far over so punishment can be more severe and rightly so.
-
yes it’s a punishable event when over the limit a small amount. There are arguments you can TRY and put forward when slightly over the limit to lessen your punishment but there’s no argument that will be listened to when over the limit by a huge amount, you can’t claim any mitigating circumstances or ignorance when so far over the limit. NOTHING can stand up up to scrutiny in that instance. im just wanting to know more before going off on him.
-
good grief. AND HOW FAR OVER THE LIMIT YOU ARE

If you are in the United States you can go to any Walmart or pharmacy and simply pick up some melatonin off the shelf. I don’t think you can do that in England. The hormone melatonin plays a role in the sleep-wake cycle. Natural levels of melatonin in the blood are highest at night. Some research suggests that melatonin supplements might be helpful in treating sleep disorders, such as delayed sleep phase. They also may provide some relief from insomnia and jet lag.

I know he’s over the limit . I’ve repeatedly said that. When have I ever denied that? I’ve never said he should escape punishment . I have Simply said there are varying degrees of punishment because there’s varying severity of offense ( I’ve highlighted that part so you don’t miss it or purposefully ignore it this time)
-
You are off your rocker tonight mate all I have said is that there are varying degrees of severity to drunk driving and that is evidenced by the severity of the fine/ punishment and until we. Know exactly what that is, I’m not throwing him to the wolves. come on Bert, don’t play the dumb guy, it doesn’t suit you. You are annoying but you’re not stupid.
-
what a bizarre comparison
-
I’ve never said there an an excuse for it or a defense… I have only ever said there’s different severities of offense and different severity of punishments and I’m waiting to see exactly what that is before I truly react.
-
The severity of the offense? having a drink and getting behind the wheel isn’t an offense. Being over the limit of course is of course .All I’m saying is we need to find out some more details - there’s a reason why there are different levels of punishment and if he’s been a melt and drank a bit much that’s one thing as stupid as it is.Being 4 times over the limit and hardly being able to stand is something different though. Both are punishable but with different severity.. just trying to find out exactly what’s happened before we throw him to the wolves..
-
well that's kind of my point, Some do. Some don't. you just don't know. He should have been more careful, for sure.. We just need more information on what has happened, really...
-
i'm not sure how else to explain this lol, but there's a difference between knowing you are breaking the law and not realizing it. Its still breaking the law of course but there is a difference between being 4 times over the limit and having half a pint too many. Did he have a cocktail? or two? who asks for the alcohol breakdown of a cocktail they are having? Its a bit like speeding. I got a speeding ticket once. I went from a 55mph zone straight to a 35 mph zone i was slowing down but not quickly enough. the officer was waiting right at the start of the 35 zone and gave me a ticket for doing 44 in a 35 zone. Was i speeding? yes. did i deserve to get a ticket? technically yes. I didn't argue it. But you can't tell me it should be the same punishment as someone going 80mph in a 40 zone. So was he ' over the limit' yes, should he get done for it? yes., But lets find out exactly what happened first before getting the pitchforks out is all im saying..
-
thats definitely what i do, but that isnt the legal requirement.
-
Thought he looked very good against Ipswich.
-
Me neither. Another reason why its hard to judge how someone reacts if its a situation you've never been in? All im saying is lets find out a few more details first. I personally don't drink at all... If you don't want to fall off the cliff, stay away from the edge is my personal motto..
-
Never panicked before?
-
Is it? To me, misjudging whether you are half a pint over the limit is very different to being 4 times over the limit.. Whilst both are bad errors, one is an error if judgement, the other is downright neglect and negligence. both should be punishable offenses, but there's a reason why those punishments will have varying degrees of severity... I mean, its not that hard to understand is it? I'm just wanting to find out where he sits on the scale of this..
-
@UpTheLeagueFox Maybe he can interview you if you're still around!
-
yes indeed. I just need to know a few more details before i decide to pick up my pitchfork!
-
Unless there has been an update recently that I don’t know about…We really need to know more before passing any judgement. Was he like a small amount over the limit and is this the difference between half a pint too much? Was he 4 times over the limit and asleep at the wheel stopped at traffic lights/ crashed into a wall? I mean, he was released immediately so we can only assume it was a minor offense. Thats not to say he hasn’t made a massive error of judgement… but we really need to know more…
-
haha but you keep coming back!
-
Just don’t sign in. Problem solved?

As much as I have enjoyed watching him play this season, i cant get over how woeful he was for us in the prem. I'd be very vervous about relying on him if we go up.. He'll get less time on the ball, wont have the space or time to pick out a pass and will have his lack of pace exploited... He would need a stronger team all around of him to be able to shine..
