  1. Possibly. I guess lots of running clubs will be more geared towards participation rather than competitive racing. I just know that a mid 15 minute 5k back when I was serious about racing was pretty inconsequential unless you were interested in 'winning' parkruns every week. I've just had a look at the rankings for last year out of interest, and the standard is even higher nowadays. Certainly from a depth point of view anyway.
  2. Nope. That time would get you absolutely nowhere regionally, never mind nationally. Be surprised if it would get you in the top 1000 in the annual rankings. There were quite a few better runners at my own club at the time as well.
  3. So we bought him with a view to AFCON then, fair enough. Hopefully he can get some game time in December to get up to speed in preparation.
  4. I've ran daily for 10 years now. Haven't raced in a few years as kids and life took away the appetite for the really hard sessions but I do still love getting out there every day. Managed to get down to 15:30 for 5k and 31:50 for 10k, but that was back in 2015...seems a long time ago now. I do keep telling myself I'll have another go at my PB's, but it's probably a pipe dream at this point. I put a lot of effort into running and only really got to the 'above average club runner' level, so the juice probably isn't worth the squeeze anyway!
  5. Yeah I’m one who has been desperate for him to go, but you have to give credit where it’s due. Best performance he’s ever put in for us tonight.
  6. Most enjoyable half of the season so far, regardless of scoreline. Decent pressing from the opposition means we haven’t had to watch our CB’s walk about with the ball. They’ve forced us to move the ball quicker which has been great.
  7. His reputation is somehow growing with every game he misses. We are going to be very disappointed when he finally does play a competitive game aren’t we
  8. Very condescending post, but it made me laugh, so thanks.
  9. Youri is a decent player but it's pretty clear he thinks he's better than he is. Lots of even top players have weaknesses, but he is one whose weaknesses are pretty pronounced...
  10. The differences are actually pretty subtle. Definitely there, but not particularly obvious. Enzo is also facing a much, much lower standard of opposition to be fair to Rodgers (Ugh). I mean, I agree with all your points, just offering a bit of balance
