  1. Fingers crossed you're right. He scored in the first game last year as well though...then only got one more. Feel like he's always had licence to go forward, just hasn't been very productive. It's an area of his game he needs to improve.
  2. I enjoyed this reference. Memories. Don't disagree with any of your post apart from the last sentence(s). I don't think he looks sharper at all, just totally lost before he was hauled off on Sunday...as he has for the last two years. I honestly think the game has moved on from players like Ndidi, which is why you will see very few clubs interested in signing him, even on the cheap. Players stagnate at clubs, it happens all the time. I think hanging onto players for sentiment, or the desperate hope that they'll improve is one of the reasons we are where we are now.
  3. I know...and we are being set up to play a high line! If Cov had a striker who wasn't completely terrible, they would have scored 3 or 4 on Sunday.
  4. Got to love a late twist.
  5. Not saying you're wrong as such, but he is still only 20 and has barely played double figure games for us (in a truly dire team/season). It's too early to say that Doyle reads the game better either - I thought he looked extremely vulnerable at times against Cov, and I'm certain he's not as quick as VK based on Sunday. I guess if EM doesn't fancy him, we should look to move him on as it's time to be ruthless. I just reckon there is a decent player there - Especially at this level.
  6. What a rollercoaster. Transfer 'will they won't they'...almost as exciting as the football.
  7. Nah. Certain players have had enough time now. Ndidi has been shocking for two years now and only has a year left on his deal - We simply have to get rid of him. Plus he's not very versatile at all is he.
  8. As a big and well run club, you’d think we would have planned for this possibility - Just a case of moving to the next on the list for this position. …Oh wait.
  9. €8M would be great business.
  10. I actually remember Morgan being deceptively quick. Huth ran like a (slow) robot, but big Wes could move.
  11. Very true. Same happened when we played Blackburn last year. They battered us but were so wasteful in front of goal that it took me by surprise! I know they beat us 2-1 but we could have equalised towards the end. Obviously Coventry ended up losing and it was largely down to poor finishing rather than us being much good. It's a nice change from the PL anyway
  12. Yep. From what I've seen of him that would suit him perfectly as well. More mobile than Doyle too.
  13. Did pretty well today and looked like he cared which is decent. I actually think he will get a lot better as he sharpens up more as well - One thing you do notice is that if he gets caught he rarely comes out on top due to his lack of physicality. That was one of the main issues Spurs fans had with him I think. As he sharpens up though that will be irrelevant as the ball will be gone before the opponent can bully him.
  14. Hmm. It’s difficult with the standard of players we have and can attract in the Championship. They are always going to make mistakes in possession and you don’t always have the opportunity to recover when that happens. Only the very top teams have players who are almost perfect for 90 minutes. Without the ability to recover at CB, we are going to be extremely vulnerable in the transitions. As I said, we were extremely fortunate not to concede a couple more today against a team that actually looked pretty poor to me. If that’s the way EM wants to play with that back three then fair enough - We’ll have to trust him I guess. There will be a lot of squeaky bum games like today if he does!
  15. The best YT video of any of the wingers linked so far. …which of course means everything.
  16. Souttar must play like Ellis Simms in training.
  17. Yep. Neither can recover, and it was pretty alarming today. Add that to the fact that they both get caught out of position a lot and you have a problem. Very poor from Cov to only get one goal today if we’re being honest. I think we need a CB who can run with this system. If we could offload Vestergaard I reckon we would go back into the market for one. Faes should be OK at this level as he can pass and is combative but we could do with some pace alongside him.
  18. Promising debut considering he only joined very recently. Seems a bit raw for a player his age though. The left winger we had when we were last in the division was similar and that went well so I’m optimistic!
  19. Looked great. Very impressed with him.
  20. Let’s be honest, we were awful for parts of that. The result was massive though, absolutely buzzing with it. Should do wonders for confidence which we have struggled with for a while now. Great game for Enzo to see what works and what definitely doesn’t as well which is positive. Bet he’ll be desperate for another CB after watching that if Coady is out for a while… Feeling a little better about the season!
  21. We are just easy to play against aren’t we. Not even angry anymore…it’s just sad to watch. New signings will change this though, got to have some faith!
  22. KDH hasn’t been great either I agree. Your Ndidi shout is ludicrous though. He will be dropped as soon as we get a replacement in - Will you ever recover?
  23. What are you talking about? What narrative? Just seeing what you want to see. What has he done well? He looks so far off it it’s ridiculous.
  24. Pleasantly surprised with how bad Coventry are. We are better, but not by much unfortunately. You can see a lot of the hangover from last year. Why are we persisting with Ndidi though? Utterly bizarre…He is beyond bad. We’d probably be better with Albrighton on the right as well. Desperate for new signings.
  25. Careful with that negative and toxic mindset on here mate. He’s basically the scouse Maldini.
