I hope Southgate saw that - Holland were able to progress the ball from back to front, primarily because Kane was not mobile enough to press and be on their deep midfielder. He clearly needs to come off.

They’ve tweaked - at times in that first half they had 6/7 players in a line across the back and were so deep they couldn’t keep hold of the ball. They’re engaging higher and getting more of the ball - and growing back into the game as part of that.

Dutch are engaging a bit higher and pushing their back line up to help with that - a threat in behind in Watkins could be useful here.

See - if Foden is central and roaming, Bellingham has to be a little more disciplined in terms of shape - plus Foden seems on it, so sometimes as a player you just have to say let him cook.

What’s annoying here is as well as were playing, if we had genuine width of the left (even just Shaw from fullback) we’d be a much greater threat.

It should be noted - Koeman is probably as tactically inept as Southgate. The Swiss were clearly doubling on Saka (the reason he scored was because the second player was drawn away by a runner). Holland are leaving him one vs one.

This is international football and it’s not a English officiating crew.

Side note: referee clearly knows how to keep the English press quiet about past match fixings!
